And if they were measured on productivity as I and many working Americans are, they'd be fired.

Also interesting to know that begging for money is considered working.  47% indeed.

Bunch of shiftless moochers, looking for a handout, suckling off the sweet, supple, sensitive nipple of the government teat.

I think we should start drug testing them.  If they're going to live off the government, they need to show they're trying to be productive and not looking for their next fix.

Insider trading takes a lot out of you, even if the Feds can't all go Martha Stewart on you.

If I had salary equivalent to theirs, and the future career options they get, I'd happily work longer hours.

So much this, any public elected office in fact, right up to the President.

Collecting all those bribes is harder than it sounds.

Since none of that is a part of their job, I don't count it.

Those duties are clearly defined in the Constitution.  Study it out.

I'll bet those shiftless crumb bums are even taking valuable Obamacare away from the producers, too! They should just go to the ER if they need any medical help.

The results are obvious from the plethora of job creation and economic stimulus bills that have moved past Obama's desk.

Sitting around having drinks conspiring to fark over poors, minorities, women, etc. is work.  It really is.  Now, they don't actually do worky things like research or writing bills - that's for the hired staffer flunkies.  They're idea people!  Ideas require booze, and junkets, and overpriced meals paid for by somebody else.  Hell, even when they're sleeping, they're dreaming of dream legislation that gives college grant money to oil exploration and food stamp money to needy cruise missiles - that's why it's called the American Dream!  That's just how hard they work.

Does that mean that they'll shut up about how lazy teachers are, since they work more hours than most Americans if you count creating syllabi, grading tests, going to PTA meeting, personal meetings with parents, and all of the other work that they take home?

No...of course, they won't.  Teachers are lazy and stupid, everybody knows that...
