(Toronto Sun)   Bradley Cooper says he actually considered real-life on-set suicide over lack of screen time in Alias. Look Brad, we can all agree there is no GOOD reason to kill yourself, but we can also agree that there ARE ridiculously bad ones   (torontosun.com ) divider line

It's almost as if actors are emotionally unstable.

Good on him for getting his sh*t together, though. I have to admit I was pretty impressed with Silver Linings Playbook, and his performance in Limitless was underrated. And no offense to him, but I hate his face.

He does have sort a douchebag look, doesn't he? And it's completely unfounded, he could be a completely cool guy in real life but he does have a punchable face. But good luck to him, addiction sucks.

Agreed. I kind of hated him at the beginning of his career also, for reasons I don't even remember. But he's won me over. He's a really good actor - I actually wanted him to win Best Actor last year.

Way back then I was a pretty solid fan of Alias, and I always biatched about how it made no sense for the main character to be with the love interest rather than Cooper's far more interesting and better-acted best friend character. Kinda feel all hipstery having rooted for him before he was "cool".

Hated the character as well, but you've got to love an actor who can elicit hatred.

I'm not saying he is a shiatty actor, but his character was awful in that.  Everytime he came on screen it was like a break from the action to hear him biatch and be annoying.  He pulled the part off well I guess, but his character was not an interesting or entertaining part of the show.

I thought SLP was awful, although his performance was pretty impressive.

He needs to take his clothes off more often. Seriously, if I HAD to do a guy. . . .

Buffy with spies instead of vampires.

Yeah I liked him in that, I think that's the only thing I've seen him in. The guy who played Murdock though...hoooooly shiat. Amazaballs. Also loved him in District 9.

I'm not gay or nothing, but this thread is seriously lacking eye candy for the ladies and homosexuals among us.

Bradley Cooper is a good looking man. Surely all this talk about suicide and emotional stability ought to take a backseat to the appreciation of the attractive and successful among us.

I would be happy to offer him comfort should he ever feel the need. Smokin hot. Jeebus.

That foolishness aside, kicking an addiction certainly cannot be easy in his profession or location. Kudos to him for getting his head screwed on straight again.

The A-Team was really, REALLY well cast.
The movie was Sharlto Copely's (murdoch, dist9) baby. He was a huge fan of the series as a kid, and got the ball rolling on getting it made.
Oh, and they're making another one. *manly squee*

I thought it was really well done, and I was a huge fan of the A-team as a kid too. I'm thrilled they're making a sequel. I love action movies that have fun stories too. Avengers is pretty much god in that arena, IMO.

Oh and if you liked A-team, check out Leverage on Netflix it's like a cross between A-team and Sneakers, and is surprisingly good. Plus Jeri Ryan shows up all sexy in like season 3 or 4

"I would only work three days a week. And then for the second season, I got even more sidelined. I was like, 'Ugh.' And then next thing you know, I was like, 'I want to f---ing kill myself.'"

Seems like the headline of the article played this up a little too much.  This just seems like a little hyperbole on the part of Cooper.

This.

I'm not ashamed to admit that when Wedding Crashers and The Hangover came out, I was actively happy to see an underrated actor from Alias hitting the big time. I don't know why I root for people who are already successful. But yeah, I  totally liked him before he was cool.

no one brought up his hillarious performance in Wet Hot American Summer?  that movie ruined Bradley Cooper for an ex of mine who was head over heels in lust for him.  incidently it was after watching that movie i found she was a huge homophobe and a completely horrible human being.   i got out when the getting was good.

and from what i heard from friends of friends, This is the End ruined Channing Tatum for her as well.

Alias was where JJ Abrams also learned that a story arc series means you have to fiddle fark around with ridiculous side plots and annoying new characters if you think your series will run longer than it takes to finish the story.  But in the end Alias got a good ending.  Sucks to be you, Lost fans.

Silver Linings Playbook was excellent.  Bradley Cooper was great in it, but even better was Jennifer Lawrence.

I hated her in X-Men First class.  Hated The Hunger Games.  But she completely won me over in Silver Linings Playbook.  That was a GREAT movie, and all the actors were exceptional in it.

I agree that he has a d-bag face...but in interviews, and in Inside The Actors Studio he comes across as a genuinely nice guy.  Good for him to get his shiat together, and become a pretty damn good actor.

Yeah, in Wedding Crashers he made you hate him, that's good acting.   I'm curious how his voice work will be for Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy...it should be interesting because he can nail the character, or it could be a cluster fark.

I first noticed him in a couple of episodes of "Nip/Tuck" where he played a complete prick. Am I hipper than you, or was that after "Wedding Crashers"?

I'm another one who liked him before it was cool, enough that I watched some terrible shiat mainly because he was in it. (Jack & Bobby, anyone?) He always struck me as too good-looking and charismatic to not end up as a movie star, but he's also smart enough to be drawn to more unconventional roles. I like him. I'm glad he got his shiat together and he's getting some of the recognition he deserves.

Not sure when he was on Nip/Tuck, but Alias started in 2001 and Nip/Tuck in 2003, so I'm afraid I'm still hipper than you.
