How did threatening to rip the jurists' arms off not work?

You spelled defense wrong. Twice. That's gotta be some kinda record.

How does one exactly... De-Fence?  Probably not a great defense I say.

Guy whould have claimed that thanks to his rich parents who gave him his own mansion at age 14, he never developed a sense of right or wrong and therefore he can;t be held accountable for his actions.  Or does that only work for white kids in TX?

Oh nevermind. Article is from the UK. They spell a lot of shiat wrong on a daily basis.

He meant the "I threw him over" defence.

Maybe from Brooklyn.

How does the chewie defense go? Stand in the middle of the court and go Aaaarrrggghhrrr?

Why is defense pronounced "de-FENCE" everywhere but sports, where it is pronounced "DE-fence?"

At times I pronounce it the latter way where no one else does, just to watch their reaction.  "Remember Bob?  he landed a job with the Department of DE-fence.

Probably because most people who watch sports are less educated, and thus suffer from poor pronunciation and grammar skills.

I suppose it only makes sense. There can't only be a 1-corner Time Cube Guy: there must be at least four corners' worth of them. One of the other three is clearly the defense attorney on this case, and the third one is the journalist who wrote about it.

Who is the fourth, I wonder?

thefonz37: I don't think I understood anything that was said in that article.

Michael Adebolajo, the man accused of killing Drummer Lee Rigby, is "the most law- abiding terrorist in the history of this country", who paid for his parking ticket, moments before the alleged murder, his lawyer has said.
David Gottlieb, his defence counsel, explained that he was using a "Sherlock Holmes" approach, adding: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

The only flaw is that the lawyer completely confuses the words improbable and impossible, thereby all but ensuring a guilty verdict for his client - other than that, it's total genius.

Prosecution :  running a man down and then hacking him to death is cowardly callous and indefensible.

Defence : other killers throughout history were more cowardly and callous.  And my client paid for parking earlier in the day so he's obviously an honest bloke.  The prosecution is just trying to confuse you with technical terms like "murder".

Unless the jury consists of the 12 most stupid people in London,  I think I know which way this one is going.

This sort of reminds me of what that dude in World War Z was talking about.
(Not exact quote)
"If nine people completely agree, then the tenth must act of the exact opposite.  No matter how absurd it seems.  So, when the reports said, "zomies", we literally took that to mean "zombies"!

These two pieces of shiat are going down for the remainder of their natural lives. There is not a lawyer in the world who get them off, especially not by splitting hairs over what charges they are in court to answer.

I'm right with you. That article completely fails to provide sufficient context to understand what the prosecution and defense are arguing. Did the defense admit their clients ran over the cops and are arguing motivation?

He told jurors the proper charge for Adebolajo would have been "treason, terrorism, or maybe manslaughter".

"M'lud, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client is a treasonous, terrorist killer, but he's not a murderer!"
