Trite subject matter, but the artwork itself is surprisingly adequate.

Or he could take selfies at the crime scene and sign them. That's probably a million dollar idea right there.

agreed. Not my cup of tea but it's not offensive to the eye.

I'm not sure how long he could keep his stand open in that area before he is forced to stand his ground again.

"Lot 215. 'Liberty and justice for all', by George Zimmerman. From the artist's 'bootstrappy' period."

Haha, yeah...  I used to live in Sanford and I still have friends there. You're probably right.

The hurricanes in 2004 wrecked business, then they recovered. The recession in 2009 wrecked business, then they recovered.  Trayvon was murdered in 2012, which horrified everyone and wrecked business.

I don't know how they're supposed to recover from this kind of disaster... wait, I got it!  They can pull an OJ and sue for his profits.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Well, maybe a peso.

Everyone has been wondering what he's doing with his life?  He's in the news every other day for getting arrested again and again and again. We know.

Also, Fox News simply referred to him as a "struggling artist." Seriously?  This is just... insanity.

How the hell does this wreck business?! The sympathy whores alone would float the local economy.

well lets not go nuts here. He was only arrested once.

And lets not forget him saving that truck load of people....

I wish it didn't. But if half are sympathy whores and half are decent people who are genuinely disgusted, well, that's half your business.

:(

If he were smart he'd say it was art by Treyvon Martin.

People pay more for dead artists.

I thought he was arrested twice in FL and once in TX?

I actually did forget about him saving the people in the truck. That was weird,

Right wingers using money so they can, just for a moment, feel like they gunned down a black kid.  Live the dream, right-wingers.

he should do a painting called "if I did it" and paint the events that occurred that night.

Maybe someone will actually pay for this but isn't it common for people to place fake bids on high profile items?

Not sure how it can be justice for all, since GJ's freedom to stand his ground kind of trampled on justice for TMs slaying.

We really should amend it to be justice or freedom for few, justice and freedom for the wealthy.

Seems to be a lot of money in getting away with killing a black teen hoodielum. Maybe he should start doing seminars to teach the tricks of the trade.

I think most people realize by now that the "art market" has always been about giving generous donations/bribes to people you like without raising suspicions because you like their "art".

He didn't get away with it. You may have missed it, but there was a trial.

That said, if Zimmerman doesn't take this money and disappear, then he's retarded.

Maybe if this had sold for 100k, we'd be dealing with an old pretentious douchy artist instead the results of a mass murdering warmonger. Oh well. I guess it will always be The Iron Dream.

2013-12-17 10:42:03 AM
Oh c'mon people. You know this wasn't Zimmerman's idea. And look at the subject matter. It has NRA, conservative, tea party all over it.

If he's an artist, he should have a body of work behind him, other works, or at least family members that can attest to his creative abilities in the past.

An interest in guns/murder and creative talent are polar opposite of each other.

Stand your ground did not apply to this case. Zimmerman got off on a simple self defense argument.

I don't get why people spread so much disinformation about the this case. I was talking to two friends who discussed this case in a college class. The entire class basically decided that Zimmerman was guilty of murder and should go toprison. When I told them that Trayvon had assaulted Zimmerman they had no clue and were shocked. An entire college class discussed the case and not a single person could some up with the correct facts. Both of my friends changed their opinion in light of this "newinformation" that had always been available.

Step 2. ???
Step 3. Profit!

So, painting is his thing. All this time I began to suspect he was engaging in some sort of elaborate performance art.
