5 miles over the speed limit? Oh, right.... Pennsylvania, that's like a $1000 ticket isn't it?

The $500,000 street value of this soap, when placed in the wrong hands could have garnered well over $400,000 that could have been used to buy more illegal drugs or support terrorism. The destruction of this $300,000 of illicit soap keeps our streets safe from crime, and helps keep our society safe from those who would seek to do us harm. The stash, amounting to $250,000 was destroyed by the local police department, with some assistance from the DEA. They also stated their hands have "never felt so soft. We're glad to have participated with our local counterparts in safely capturing this menace. $175,000 less in the hands of street gangs."

"A young man spent a month in jail, spent a substantial amount of money to get out of jail and missed Thanksgiving with his 17-month-old son," he said. "To do that on a field test, we better be darn sure that these field tests are accurate."

HAHAHA, oh now that's funny. He's lucky the cop didn't drop a baggie into the trunk to "find". Amateur cop.

Given that the officer was 'mistaken' about the field test...assuming he even did one...it's possible he lied about the consent, as well.

Lesson learned - keep your homemade soap at home.

Good point.  I was also thinking that his field test was just putting a little on his finger and tasting it.  Given that this is the US the only coke the officer has ever had was probably half soap anyway.

This must be hilarious to Russians since their justice system is perfect.

1: smell of pot
2: admit to smoking pot
3: have pot hidden in your bra
4: driving a benz from NY to FL
5: have home made soap which is wrapped and looks like coke and gives a positive field test result for coke.

Yeah, I'm okay with charging you for that.  The LEO isn't a chemist.  He did the best he could given the information at his disposal and all the information said your transporting drugs.

You missed the part about how he "found" a baggie in her bra.

1 month to run and rerun a 30-minute test that determines they aren't coke, on people who can't afford to bail out? No, that's all kinds of farked up. This test could have been run the same night and results determined within days, the same way every DUI case is handled. Further, it's well-known that Cobalt-Thiocyanate reacts with cocaine and lots of other stimulant drugs, but it does NOT react to sodium hydroxide. The cop's entire report is based on a lie thanks to laziness, and I hope karma comes to him soon.
