(Fox 2 St. Louis)   UPS comes up with creative places to leave packages when you aren't home, but perhaps the trashcan on garbage day isn't the best idea. Bonus: UPS denies any responsibility   (fox2now.com) divider line 20

They should have gone with the tried and true, guaranteed to keep your stuff safe, "stick everything under the door mat" technique.

~~Also, shippers always have the option of selecting our Signature Required Service (There is a surcharge of approximately $3.00 for this service)

Oh you wanted to GET your package?  That costs extra.

A little Xmas present I ordered from a freind was shipped by Neiman Marcus via FedEx.  They claim they left it by the garage on Friday, on the tracking info page.

I have no garage.

Robo Beat: Sounds about right.  My UPS experiences mostly involve the driver leaning out the door of the truck while he drives past my building and tossing the package at the front door without stopping.

Usually, anything that comes for me gets put between the front door and the storm door; that way it isn't visible from the street. Plus, I live across the street from 2 old guys who have nothing better to do all day then shout at children for getting on their lawns and call the cops to complain about all this god-damn hippidy hop music! Grumpy old guy security is the best!

I've never had a bad experience with FedEx or USPS.

I have had multiple "rip my hair out because of frustration" bad experiences with UPS.

Jument: Why was her trash can out on trash day if it was empty?

Just because you don't have trash is no reason to let the trash man get off easy. You'll dump my empty can and you'll like it!

Sum Dum Gai: Also, for those who have neighbors with sticky fingers - move.  This isn't the norm, and do you really want to live around people who would rob you?

Yeah, did you hear that, poor people? Get in your BMW and move to the suburbs. Does this guy have to think of everything for you?

Doubtful.  You are more than likely the only person left who plays WoW.

Never had a problem with the UPS guy. FedEx though is another problem. a drunk driver took out my mailbox one night, and before I got my replacement that afternoon FedEx had stopped by. I got home to a package with a note stating: "Put house numbers on!" next to the post where my mailbox had been.

iheartscotch: aimtastic: TedCruz'sCrazyDad: Porn?

LOL, no.

But that reminds me of the stories my husband tells me about when he worked at a used CD/DVD/game store and dudes would come in, buy a used porn DVD, then come back an hour later to sell it back. Ewww.

Unless things went very wrong; I'm not seeing how the box or disk would rate an "eww" on the nasty-o-meter. I could see a "dude, really?". We're talking about used DVDs, not used sex dolls.

How do you know the guy washed his hands before bringing the DVD back?

I think UPS keeps delivering my packages to an unknown, honest but lazy neighbor. Tracking shows the package was delivered on Monday? It shows up on my porch Thursday.

I was short on a freight shipment for a home project, and the supplier offered to overnight the missing parts by UPS. They gave me the tracking number, which showed that the package was delivered the next day. My mom was at my house, watching my daughter all day, but the UPS driver never came to the front door. We started doing package trace and all that crap, and the supplier was going to send the package again if nobody could find the package. I was doing some yard work that weekend, and found the package behind my house on the side of the garage in the narrow space next to the fence line.

I guess the enclosed (and unlocked) front porch was too obvious of a place for the package to go!

My experiences with UPS range from the valiant to the count to potato retarded.

Your delivery man can either be a goofus or gallant, but if you use UPS you are guaranteed some of each.

I cant believe you guys fell for this one. You want me to believe a woman just happened to buy a really expensive electronic item, and the ups guy just decided to put it in her trash, and it just happened to be trash day?

Don't you guys think she could be lying? The only "evidence" is someone wrote "in the trash" on the note - anyone could have written that. She obviously got the item and is scamming ups. It's sad so many ppl just believe whatever they're told without looking at the facts

Um...<checks profile>...nope. I'm not your lazy but honest neighbor.

In my defense, it's mostly due to procrastinating.  I keep the package near the door until I work up the nerve to actually bring it to the right house. Usually under the cover of darkness because why not?

I hate UPS with a passion, but lately FedEx has irritated me. My new Radeon card should have arrived yesterday, but the package hasn't been scanned in four days now. I called today and the lady was nice and as helpful as possible, but all she can do today is make a note of it to pass on to the distribution center tomorrow, as they are closed today.

I have a sneaking suspicion the FedEx freight driver is sitting at home playing WoW with my card right now.
