Outside the DC area, are the Redskins perceived as a disfunctional joke? I want to make sure it's not the echo chamber.

Real answer?  Yes, ever since Danny Boy bought the team.

What I don't understand is why on earth you would sit your starting QB, who, only last year scared the bejebus out of the rest of the teams in the NFC East with his natural abilities. Fast forward to his injury and how it's been handled and the 'skins have become a non-factor.   From the first game this year, when he went in with zero real game time experience since his injury, it's become a joke.  Add to this Griffin's inability to accept responsibility when his team loses, along with incompetent coaches, you have the perfect shiatstorm of ineptitude.

I feel bad for the fans of this team. Without a doubt, some of the most loyal in the NFL.

I wouldn't go that far. The Eagles are down right dangerous lately. How many times have we seen the Giants start mediocre and finish strong? Chicago and Dallas have to be nervous about those 2 games.

Yep. Although Snyder is far and away the most responsible party here, let's not pretend that RG3 throwing his teammates and coaches under the bus as early as October has helped in any way.

Big Red will only get your hopes up only to dash them in January.  Mark my words Chiefs fans.  Mark my words.

Sure, you beat the lowly deadskins after that 3 game losing streak, but don't for a second think Oakland is going to roll over today.  On a different note, I have to admit this is one of my favorite rivalry games and has been so since the Al Davis screwed over Marcus Allen.

I was about to mention that.  We had the same problem here with McNabb.  The guy was a passive-aggressive as the come.  One former Eagle who played with him summed it up best:  "McNabb is the kind of guy who accepts responsibility and then spreads it around on all of his teammates".

While Vick is no longer our starting QB, (and I don't like the guy) I have to give him credit.  He's always accepted responsibility when the team has lost... always.

As long as Griffin doesn't get actual game time with his team, he'll never become a better QB.

For once he's not the problem. Shanahan is and has been from day one of his tenure. He has full control over the team; it's part of his contract. Every bad decision has been his. McNabb, Grossman, Beck, paying Haynesworth $22M to sit instead of cutting him, switching to a 3-4 with 4-3 personnel, etc. It's all him.

Not sure about that.  Griffin and Snyder have had quite the bromance over the past year.  I'm curious to how that affects the dynamics of the coach-player and owner-coach relationships.

The Haynesworth SIGNING was under Zorn. But the writing was on the wall when Shanahan came on board. He had the opportunity to cut Haynesworth before a $22M payment came due. He didn't. Haynesworth got paid, was even more useless after that, and eventually got cut. That's a huge waste of money and was a major cap hit. So when Shanahan blames the $36M cap penalty the league imposed on the Redskins, remember what he did to hurt his own cap and roster with that debacle.

BunkyBrewman: Not sure about that. Griffin and Snyder have had quite the bromance over the past year.

Meh. That's a non-issue if all the other crap isn't on the table: injury, crappy roster, bad coaching, etc. If they're winning, that relationship - whatever it is in actuality - matters not at all.

Well, the Broncos s**t the bed, at home, against the Chargers and that traitorous scumbag Mike McCoy on Thursday night. Here are my "Kiss O' Death" picks for today.

- Confederates "win" against a RG3-less Landover team that has pretty much admitted they've stopped trying for the remainder of the season.

- DAAA' Bears roam free in the Factory of Sadness. Final score: Bears 72, Browns, 6.

- UPSET SPECIAL: Houston finally wins a game, beating the Other Ponies in Indy.

- Gronkless Patriots hold off the Fish in South Beach.

- Eagles Take It Easy on the Vikings, only win by two TDs.

- Seahawks crap on the New York Football Giants in their first trip to Jersey this season.

- Niners sink the Pirate Ship in Tampa.

- Jags defeat the Bills. The Bunny will be pleased.

- Chiefs scalp the Raiders in Oakland.

- Cam Newton gets his groove back against the Jets.

- Cows trample the Rodgers-less PACKERRRS in Dallas.

- Tennessee reminds the Cardinals that they live in fear of the Titans.

- Breesus fleeces the Rams.

- Bengals maul the Steelers on Sunday night.

Place your bets, folks!

I don't know about those but there have been multiple reports that Snyder was behind trading up for RG3 and Shanahan was against it.  The friction started there and all three parties handled it poorly.

Shanahan has spoken about it interviews and answered these questions directly 2 days ago.

He claimed RG3 was getting hit way too many times in the last couple of games and he would feel terrible if he got hurt in these last few.  He claimed he started him in the Chiefs game because the Chiefs hadn't been getting many sacks in their recent matchups.

Whether or not we believe his reasoning is another story.  But he said it was for protection of the franchise and of himself, AND to give Cousins a chance to increase his value.  I think they plan on trading Cousins and MS actually thinks he can bring back a pretty high pick.

My take is it kills multiple birds with one stone.  He's not on the hook if RG3 gets hurt, he has an excuse if Cousins stinks it up, he can maybe reclaim his reputation among other owners as a coach in control of the locker room but who is a "team player", he makes it known that his time in DC was meddled with by Snyder, and he doesn't have to deal with the RG3/Snyder saga in the last 3 weeks he'll be in DC.
