I'm going to start a hipster airline, they will only fly cold war era Soviet Jets, the pilots and flight attendants will be hired based on their ability to grow hipster beards,  refreshments will be water from Lake Erie, and food delivered from only the finest hipster food trucks.

But Agnes Perry, 48, who lives on Guernsey with her husband Colin, 58, described what it is like flying with Aurigny. They made it sound like air travel from a bygone era.
Mrs Perry, a translator, said: 'If it's a short flight, you do not get any food. The planes are so small there's no central alleyway and there's enough room for two people to be side by side and one pilot.
'You can see the pilot - there's no separate cockpit -and you can talk to him and he talks to you. He tells you to sit back and makes sure you have your seatbelt on. There's no room for cabin crew.'

Short haul carrier Ryanair got the lowest customer rating for luggage allowances, boarding experience, legroom and food and drink.

they also have the lowest customer prices, and all that stuff is about price. If you get a meal, it's going straight on your ticket.

This makes me miss Independence Air. They were hubbed in Dulles, had a fleet of small, short-haul airplanes, and served the northeast. They had their own terminal, making transfers a breeze, cheerful and friendly staff, and great prices.

So of course they failed.

Shouldn't a true hipster rather burn the plane down instead of flying in it?

Their irony I guess.

"30 people had given their opinions on Aurigny, compared with hundreds for the other carriers"

That's some fine poll-taking there, Lou.

Most flights in Europe are no longer than 3-4 hours tops, so a middle class family or poor student is willing to suffer those three hours so they can be on the beach in Spain or at Oktoberfest. Only spending £40 on a ticket means more booze money.

Ive flown Ryanair a handful of times.  They will not get another cent of my money.

My wife wasn't impressed. But I'd much rather fly with FlyBE or Easyjet than the fart smellers at BA ever again.

I've flown Ryanair a few times and am happy to do so again. Their plane fleet is about the newest around (average age 3 years compared to well over ten years for most US airlines) and I like flying into tiny airports where the walk from the plane to the car is about a hundred yards, including luggage pick up and customs.

The airline industry uses aircraft age as a gimmick because most people equate mode of transport age with our cars.  Most of us would scoff at a daily driver from the early 1970s, but aircraft is totally different.  There is something to be said about off the beaten path airports that are much easier to navigate through and away from, but there are many more low and mid-tier airlines that I would fly before Ryanair that go to those same airports.

To be truthful Paul Ryan is a giant douche everywhere else, no wonder his airline sucks.

Dude, look up a list of companies from the former USSR not allowes to land in the EU.

They got that shiat down pat.

/ www.airlinemeals.net can also show you what they serve.

An airline that nobody's heard of flies to a place nobody's heard of.

Hipsterrific.
