*frowny face*   Maybe you need a time out so you stop making oopsies.

I was being overly generous with regards to air molecules in space, now in turn you want to take what's technically correct with what I've said, call it wrong, then tell me I'm not worthy of conversation.

All right, you're not worthy of my conversation. Get over yourself.

gweilo8888: khyberkitsune: But you don't seem to understand EcogroLED was a subdivision of a larger company that does everything from multimedia/website design to horticultural projects to making the huge LED-based ad screens you see around tennis courts and football pitches. Like most corporations, in fact.

Amazing -- and yet "EcoGroLED" or "EcoGro LED" in total return only 1,808 results on Google, and not a single news item ever on Google News. Not the most successful product launch ever, I can see why this huge multinational sold it.

It's interesting to me that the huge multinational was running its operation out of a house in Riverside, CA, according to the address on the Google Plus page for EcoGro. And that EcoGroLED, EcoGro, and Eco Gro, haven't ever been trademarked for anything except soil (and in all cases, those trademarks are lapsed.)

Care to identify the multinational, or will it sound a lot less impressive than the word multinational?

Let's see, you want the entirety of the names used for each company in each country? Because that would take a very long time to list all of the companies (and I'm quite sure I'd be leaving a few out unintentionally, there's just that many,) Example the UK sister company to what was EcoGroLED in the USA (I used the house address as the mailing address to keep our testing facility location private) is QuantumLED. There's ton's of it, going from Australia FodderTech, to some company in Japan whose name I can't pronounce nor Romanji enough to make sense for a search, up to the soon-to-open FuturLED in the USA (the company that bought EcogroLED's technology, trademarks, etc. ) and more. I guess the best way to describe it is a chain letter format for companies.

It's convoluted, and that's without shell companies.

All I do is make patentable stuff, make sure it works, they build a company around it, get someone to buy up the technology, we get paid, repeat.

I've run through at least 8 companies. Thank god I have an accountant to handle the tax headaches.

Translation: "Multinational" equals "cottage industry buying in stuff from China", and there's nobody anyone would've ever heard of behind it.

But it doesn't sound so impressive when you put it that way, so I can understand your reticence.

Overly generous with stupidity maybe. Pretty common for you in this thread.

I would advise you to be a bit more stingy with it in the future.

Incidentally, as I already pointed out, EcoGroLED isn't trademarked, and nor is EcoGroLED. EcoGro (or Eco Gro / Eco-Gro, I forget but all would essentially be considered much of a muchness anyway, legally) exists, but only for soil, and has been allowed to lapse.

Nobody "bought" the EcoGro trademark. They might've bought copyright to a logo, but that's not a trademark.

This is completely true. My router is in a dark closet and absolutely nothing will grow near it.

My neighbor's wifi got my wife pregnant.  Then that same wifi fed the baby to a dingo.  Now I've been told the wifi gave me AIDS.  My neighbor's wifi is a dick

This claim is as bogus as the stuff the anti vaxers spout.  I have a shelf with my wifi router sitting on it right next to a vine.  It's doing very well.  There's another vine in a pot about 4 feet to the right of the router.  It goes right past the router for another 12 feet, and it's showing no signs of slowing down.

casual disregard: This crap again?

Can somebody find demonstrable, repeatable evidence that this device causes harm?

Many plants also won't grow in the dark. This must mean that the dark is dangerous. I have lots of dark areas in my own home.

How much should I panic over this news?

Don't take it so hard man. Lots of people make mistakes.  All you need to do is read more. It helps improve your vocabulary and is enjoyable at the same time.
