Afternoon everyone. FFPL report to follow - sometime - I am receiving guests today and may not be allowed to spend my customary afternoon listening to fitba on the radio.

Of course, if someone else fancies a go...

You do it better than I could.

God I hate these games before the sun is up. And waiting on my coffee...

Come on, you Gunners. Crucial game today, and one that nobody expects you to win. Let's see what you can do.

Was really hoping the game wouldn't start this way. Motherf*cker.

In case it isn't back Walcott's shot is deflected into the back of the net.

Bring back Hart?

Mine came back in time to show Walcott scoring in the middle of an apparent blizzard.

The picture is so fuzzy right now that I'm expecting Bigfoot to show up at any moment.

Another goal from City and now Kos being stretchered off. This is seriously not good.

Langston: Another goal from City and now Kos being stretchered off. This is seriously not good.

Judging from the way he got up and went down again, I'm guessing knee injury, one of the various cruciate ligaments.

That's my greatest fear. That half of our best central defender tandem could be out for the season. I do like Vermaelen, hopefully he'll be well rested and will have learned a lot about his positioning and improved his understanding of the game.

I'll be happy with any points we can get at the Etihad right now.

Arsenal doing a lot of chasing today, just like midweek.

NBC now saying "laceration", which would be better news if confirmed.

They're saying just a laceration on Koscielny. Not great news but that's easily fixable and not season-ending. Thank goodness.

As a Man Utd fan, a draw would suit me perfectly.

I'd like any points we can get. Not sure if Arsenal can do it today. City is very tough, very talented, and very, very fast. Arsenal can take advantage of City's mistakes, if City make any mistakes today.

Dammit. Arsenal mistake leads to a City goal.

I'm in DC too! Though I'm home visiting family.  How long are you in town?

In other news, City winning is never good, but Arsenal losing is great.  I'm torn, but I think the fact that I have City winning in the predos without it being insured means I'll be happy with a City win if Arsenal can score one more time.

2013-12-14 09:11:25 AM
Win or lose, this is a very different Arsenal team than last year. Last year, the gunners would have turtled at 3-1, and stayed in their own half and tried to keep City from running up the score, they're fighting to win.

Silva makes it 4-2. Let's see more fight again, Arsenal. C'mon.

Ok no more scoring Arsenal and 15 points for me!

Arsenal starting to tire. 5-2 looking more likely than 4-3 at this point.

A tough loss, but not surprising. City is fantastic and dangerous at every position. Good game, I hope Arsenal can repay the favor at the Emirates.

As an outside neutral who doesn't hate either club, that was a fun one to watch. Sorry Arsenal fans; you have all of the pieces besides any depth at striker. And no complaints about playing at midweek, hundreds of clubs in Europe would love to have that problem.

I will say this was the first time I stuck with an NBC stream through the entire match and I was pleasantly surprised (there are a million other streams to watch). NBC was far improved over the shait show of Fox Sports. My only complaint were the commercials in the top left over the scoreboard/clock. Don't do that. Also the commercials at halftime made me laugh since I don't watch American TV without the commercials already removed. Very targeted at the fans waking up at dawn to watch EPL. That, and the usual beer, beer, army/veterans, beer routine

Not much else today is as high profile as City - Arsenal. There's Bayern Munich v Hamburg, Celtic v Hibs, and Barcelona v Villareal. http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=2034153.html

I was out there last night at Meridian Pint.  Lovely bar.  I used to live in Mt. Pleasant before I moved out to Illinois.

Understandable.  There are some other beer bars I can recommend closer to you if you end up being interested.
