I love all this marketing phantomware companies advertise.  Facebook doesn't need image processing to know what your hobbies are.  You already told them that by "liking" the same things that are in your photos.

I think My Little Ponies tells everyone all they need to know about your social life, subs.

I figured by now we'd be at least discussing electronic brains.

More like a 1930's comic strip, or a sequel to Oh Brother, where art thou? GIS for "Machine Brain":

What social life? If bronies could properly socialize, do you think they'd be obsessed with a show intended for little girls?

Then FB will finally figure out what my actual friends have known for years: I don't leave my home EVER.

All it'll learn about my social life is I don't have one.

2013-12-14 11:10:23 AM
I don't take photos of my social activities. I'm busy being social during those times. Also, it's not like I'm going to go back and look at those photos ever again.

Electronic brains sound too scifi-y. The popular terminology sounds more solid and low-tech instead of imaginative and unrealistically advanced sounding, so we've looped back around to a more antiquated description of the future, except now it's the present.

Interesting. I know the original computers were typically women doing math problems before the end of WWII. Perhaps the sexbot thing really is just part of the cycle.

But we always have that friend who is always snapping pictures and tagging us, right?

Regardless, Facebook really shouldn't be announcing these things, in no way or fashion does this ever come off as NOT creepy.

According to my FB photos, I'm an astonished looking koala who dressed up once as a panda, owns a dog, lives in a house, looked at a mountain several years ago, saw a duck upside down in a pond, thinks you should not panic, and likes gay jewish black klansmen. This is unfair, as I can turn a mean pancake too.

I would hope nobody would do that without asking.  They would be a pretty lousy friend if they did.

Amen to Muslim's comment.  My wife is a constant picture taker.  I don't get it. To me stopping to take a photo interrupts my experience of the moment.  I would rather experience the moment.  The picture is not needed if I have the memory.  Plus, as mentioned above, who really looks again at the photos they took?

Not only have I had people tag me without asking (not that I mind, mind you) but I've had people tag a huge bunch of names on greeting cards. Just a card. No pics on it, just so that you get a notification.
