Half of her tips for an entire night came to $8?   Yeah, that's about right.

I threw up a little bit in my mouth.

czei: Half of her tips for an entire night came to $8?   Yeah, that's about right.

I had to reread that in the article to make sure I read that right.

If you're a stripper making $16/night, it may be time to reconsider your career path.

Dear Christ. All of these people should be disinfected, made to register as Republicans, and then be disinfected again.

The old guy was a genius.  Minus the arrest and other nonsense, it was cheaper than any cab fare.

She might make more doing a donkey show

Lawrence, 33, said he and his girlfriend were giving Robert Cook a ride home because Cook "had provided Angela Miller with half of the money that she had earned from dancing" on Thursday, according to the report....Miller, 33, said she didn't know Cook, but "he had spent $8 on her while she danced."

I don't suppose anyone else has yet mentioned this little tidbit, yet, have they?

Of course they have.

2013-12-14 08:18:29 AM
the officer asked Lawrence ... why he lied about his identity...
Lawrence said he's "been in enough trouble" and "wanted to start over."

From now on, I am turning over a new leaf!
I have learned from my mistakes, and I am turning my life around!
From this day forward, I will only provide false names to the police!
No more identifying myself upon being pulled over. No more trouble!
Genius!

The lapdance is so much better when the $8 stripper is crying?

fjnorton: She has dead eyes

So does Rhianna, and look how far she got.

/Seriously, when that chick sings her eyes get  deader, gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I suspect Carl Hiaasen's reoccurring character "Skink" (former Florida Governor Clinton Tyree, college football star and decorated Vietnam War vet) was based on Robert Cook.

I can't decide which would be worse - to die before 72, or to live to be 72 and be doing meth and giving strippers 8-dollar tips at that age.

2013-12-14 08:42:03 AM
The driver, Shalamar Lawrence, told the officer - after providing a false name and claiming he had no form of identification

If my name was a man named Shalamar I would lie about it to.

You and me, we should be dancin' in the sheets.

...as long as it doesn't cost more than 8 dollars.

I don't think any of them would ever vote Republican even if they could .

Too late, I think they already are members of the democratic party...  the drug paraphernalia thing gave that away.

I'm not so sure she would make any better money.  The highlight of her dance is when the patrons toss up a few dollars for her to keep her panties on.

I've known a few strippers.  About half are stereotypical trailer trash who have drug problems and date losers.  The other half just come across as regular, everyday girls, who happen to take their clothes off for  a living.

So that's what it would look like if Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura had a 72 year old baby.

I believe Skink only has one eye due to some hobo-bashing teenagers, no?

Any one else think that getting pulled over may have saved this guy's life? Because yeah, really, they were just going to give the old guy a ride home.

Must have been caesarian scar night at the Shark Lounge.

The $8 line is the greatest tongue-in-cheek punchline I have seen in an article in recent memory. Absolutely farking hilarious.

Maybe she only did a few sets for a total of 2 hours work and walked out with $16 in tips. Maybe she doesn't report all her tips so lets call it tax free. That's better pay than minimum wage. Could happen you know.

Note to fellow Farkers: Don't embiggenate stripper mugshot. Just trust Mad Mark on this one.

Well, if I were stuck in that place, for whatever reason, I would be willing to stuff dollar bills into her mouth, if she puts her clothes back on.

Right you are Ausfahrk. Perhaps a bit of literary license by Hiaasen?
