I can't wait to see how they work a trip to Disneyland into an episode in the first season, as is required by every single show on ABC.

And FINALLY the villains along with all of their "sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters" have all been eternally imprisoned on a fantasy island???

You know who ELSE was imprisoned on a Fantasy Island?

Alright, who's the smartass that got their fanfic greenlit for an actual movie?

Captain Steroid: Alright, who's the smartass that got their fanfic greenlit for an actual movie?

George Lucas, but that's not important right now.

This looks like utter shiat even by Disney Channel tween programming standards.

JFC.

How did Hollywood and the networks ruin the idea of the gritty reboot? Amazing.

For God's sake, pull up amazon and just pick a book at random and make a movie about that. Why do we need the same 10 movies set to repeat?

This will be terrible, but it might be an entertaining type of terrible.

Didn't the X-Men already do this with Hank McCoy and Jean Gray?

So... can someone explain to me how villains who die, on screen, in Disney animated features somehow end up on Mickey-stralia a la Lost and have kids who then go to the same HIGH SCHOOL as the Disney princess' kids, who would have all come from different eras and cultures anyway?

2013-12-13 06:23:18 PM
Once Upon A Time in Wonderland is pretty bad, and Once Upon A Time is in a downward plot spiral. You guys already have the live action Maleficant movie coming soon. The live action fairy-tale horse is already down, guys - if you keep hitting it like that, it will certainly die.

(Was this supposed to compete with that Vampire Academy movie?)

Stephanie Myers but that's not important right now.

That word has never before seemed more comforting.

Why did Superman fight the Hulk? How did Barry Allen come back from the dead using the Speed Force after twenty years? What the hell is a Speed Force? Why did the My Little Ponies turn into adolescent high school girls? None of it makes any sense!

the best we can do is a Telltale game.  Disney knew they didn't have to pay for it for the same reason the Fables comic could be made in the first place.

Am I the only one who thought the premise sounded kind of cool, at least from the Fark headline anyway?

Sort of like Marvel's Runaways but with Disney characters.

No? I'm the only one? Damn.

Yeah ... where's the series with the brats of the now-aging "Kermie", Miss Piggy, Dr. Teeth, Janice & so on?

As for copying off OUAT - do go on. I'll add popcorn to my dinner ...

I'd like to see a Harvey Birdman treatment of the Disney cartoon universe, with some sort of PI character settling disagreements and solving crimes. Maybe ask the questions we've always wanted to ask, like why half of Mickey's pals don't wear pants.

2013-12-13 07:52:46 PM
I like the idea that Cruella's car makes her magic in other worlds...

I'm actually more bewildered by how (and why) most of these villains would have had kids? I just don't really see Maleficent catching baby rabies and deciding she needs to have sweet little offspring to love and care for before hitting 40.

Also, Belle and the Beast? Weren't the amongst the few whose actual kingdom (France) was specifically named in the movie?

When the hell would Jafar have the time to have a kid, in between his time of wanting to kill Aladdin and becoming all powerful? Did he magically roofie Jasmine at some point?

Need to just make the damn Runaways movie theyve been working on for a decade already. Not enough supervillains in the MCU yet though...

In five years not a single myth, fairy tale, or legend will still be in the public domain.

2013-12-13 08:36:06 PM
I recall commenting after seeing Beauty and the Beast that there was a scene that was cut out where the palace guards torched the town, then imprisoned or hanged most of the men in the village.

French royalty didn't have a lot of tolerance for peasant uprisings.

His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters. These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents' footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom?

Well, that's clearly unconstitutional.

I'm just glad the Illiad and the Odyssey are too firmly entrenched as Literature for that shiat to happen.

This. Otherwise Disney couldn't have had Peter Pan be the basis for this season's OUAT. Although using the idea that Pan is [spoiler] [spoiler] and Tink was [spoiler] by the [spoiler] because she [spoiler] is probably going to be a little awkward.

I am disappointed in Cruella De Vil . She named her son Carlos De Vil? She should have named him Cooper, Coop for short.

He thought she had a terrible personality and initially wanted to marry and immediately kill her, but later he dressed her like a sexy slave and tried to make the Genie do a love spell on her.

If we ignore the straight to video sequels I guess he could have raped and impregnated Jasmine somewhere in that stretch between sending Aladdin away and his return (which I didn't get the impression could have been more than a few hours.)

Who says it's Jasmine's kid? Jafar was Grand Vizier. He probably had his own harem.

You'd also have to ignore the TV show which took place after the movie and involved no kids.
