I'm Kanye West, wearing a flak vest.
Hangin' on the front lines, this is my test.
Gotta make it past this day without getting shot.
Hope and I pray that my number's not bought...

Sinbox: " Rap and Hip Hop are just other forms of rock music" We are living in a world where people have an eclectic music taste.

"Listen friend, Rock 'N' Roll music, rap, and Hip Hop are works of Satan, and such music invokes evil spirits (demons). Hip Hop = The Devil. Don't believe it? Then listen to some of the Devil's children themselves concerning rock music (and by the way, Rap and Hip Hop are just other forms of rock music). The hallmark trait of Rock music is its driving devilish BEAT. Take away the beat and NOT one rap/hip hop album would sell."

Rock and Roll History(Here is how ROCK AND ROLL evolved). BLUES, R&B, ROCK, COUNTRY, REGGAE, AND HIP HOP. Most music GENRES have the Rock and Roll driving devilish beat in it which invokes evil spirits (demons).

CHUCK BERRY CREATED ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC OUT OF R&B FOR A WHITE AUDIENCE BECAUSE R&B WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY WHITES. ELVIS FOLLOWED CHUCK BERRY AND STARTED TO PLAY ROCK MUSIC TOO.THE BEATLES AND THE ROLLING STONES (BRITISH INVASION ) FOLLOWED ETC. Remember the following,

"The hallmark trait of Rock music is its driving devilish BEAT which invokes evil spirits (demons)."

ENJOY ROCK AND ROLL MY FRIENDS.I ENJOY IT TOO.

NOW YOU KNOW WHY MOST ROCK MUSICIANS HAVE TRAGIC DEATHS WHILE OTHERS SEEM TO LIVE FOREVER LIKE THE ROLLING STONES. Remember any music genre that has the Rock and Roll driving devilish beat invokes evil spirits (demons).

ROCK AND ROLL IS SATAN MUSIC. THE DEVIL'S MUSIC.

Did bevets have a stroke?

A better question may be, why does a Christian themed desktop picture have the slogan from a pack of Pall-Malls on it?

"In Hoc Signo Vinces"?

*googles*

Ah, the Vision of Constantine. Makes sense, now.

Was actually hoping for a decent smackdown, instead got "[t]hat last paragraph was covered in sarcasm" advisory because, clearly, there would be no other way to detect sarcasm.

I haven't heard much of Kanye's music, but I did check out Bound 2. If that's what passes for good production, flow, and rhymes these days then the best selling hip-hop artist of the current generation is the best marketer of all time. It's on par with selling canned feces at the same price as gold.

The Flexecutioner: I'm gonna take a stab at justifying what Kanye said.  And yes, I really hate this dillweed of a person.

Here is what Kanye said: 'I'm just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally... and I think about it. I think about my family and I'm like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.'

This guy certainly isn't known for portraying context appropriately but I think the bold part meant that his family is like that of a cop's or soldier's family in that they are always afraid for their safety like his is afraid for him.  I don't honestly think he is comparing his work to what cops do but the risk of his work and the toll on his family.  And yeah it was really poorly said and analogized, that's a given.  The cop certainly couldn't see this as the intent.  But it's cute that he wanted a piece of the attention.  His popularity must have gone to his head.  I mean, he must feel like he's a famous rapper with all those followers.

You are literally the only person who sees it that way.  To everyone else, he compared his job to that of the police/military.  Either way, it's still not an accurate comparison...at all.

About as worthy of attention as an open letter from a relationship counselor to Romeo. Let not these two realms of reality and entertainment meet.

Isn't making fun of Rap stars/Hip Hoppers like shooting fish in a barrel?

well, the comparison is that 2 sets of families both worry for their safety because the job is risky and in a basic way is accurate enough but he did a terrible job conveying that.  stalkers and crazy people actually do kill entertainers but not nearly as often as druggies and gang members kill cops or soldiers dying in combat.  he just should have conveyed those risks in a form other than analogy.

Trey Le Parc: jankyboy: Kanye can't even buy his girl a dress that isn't torn.

[i.dailymail.co.uk image 634x598]

His head looks like an over-inflated gourd.

Thick, large & hollow? Sounds about right.

Let's see.  Kanye started his career in 1990.

Since 1990, 25 Los Angeles police officers have been killed while on duty.

24 rappers have been murdered since 1980. Not many have been killed onstage, though.

2,274 American military personnel have died in Afghanistan.

Now, the question is--why hasn't anyone stepped up and shot Kanye?

Did you know that there is a Kanye North and a Kanye South in Japan but no Kanye West?
