Flash_NYC: But, according to Tom Friedman of the NYT, at least China can compete economically in the world economy!  This is because, according to Friedman, their citizens are "qualified" and U.S.A. workers are not.  Friedman's solution is to spend billions on education so our workers in the cleanest factories in the world can  compete against a country where the workers are paid $3/hour, work 16 hours a day, live in dorms where they work and work in factories where OSHA, and EPA regulations don't exist.   This is what we are supposedly "competing" against.

The Chinese know they're destroying their country, but they don't care.  As long as they destroy our ability to manufacter anything before they destroy there own country, they win.

They're not the ones destroying our ability to manufacture anything. We are, by convincing ourselves that it's a moral imperative to eliminate all entry-level jobs so our graduating students are forced to pretend they're experts in everything, without having any actual competence at all, while simultaneously condemning them for being too lazy to do the jobs we've made it illegal for them to do.

/chain a dog down and beat him for being too lazy to break the chains and do something, and eventually the dog will just learn to never try to do anything no matter how much you beat him, even after the chains are removed
//this works on humans too, and we've been doing it to our kids ever since the minimum wage was instituted and illegal immigrants used to fill jobs that can't be paid the minimum wage

LewDux: kpaxoid: Clean air is socialism, not communism.

Socialism is intermediate stage between capitalism and communism (in China and Russia - between communism and capitalism), where people learn how to live without air or food

Yeah. Marx got that wrong. Socialism is the sweet spot between capitalism and communism. A place where massive profits are allowed to accumulate to an individual while at the same time we acknowledge basic human dignity and provide a comfortable life for those who don't, won't, or can't provide for themselves.

What the pure capitalists and pure communists don't understand is that those two systems will destroy themselves as they both produce massive amounts of inequality. While socialism will curb inequality while at the same time allow for merit to achieve high status.

Free from Job Killing Regulations, and with the elite having special air purifiers in their sealed houses, it is a Republican paradise!

Endive Wombat: Sorry for the ignorant question, but why is the air so polluted there?

You know all those commooniss, libby, libtard organizations like the EPA and stuff, trying to stifle our job creators with silly pollution laws?  Yeah, they ain't got those.

They aren't trying to "win" as a collective. The pollution is a result of millions and millions of individual choices made by business people working within the laws and level of enforcement of the land.

Tat'dGreaser: The state media reported that doctors also believe this technique will definitely obstruct air entering the nasal cavity, and will affect normal breathing.

It's chinese science, man.  If you'd ever read one of their academic publications you'd know why they need to point out that blocking your airway might interfere with breathing.
