There was a Bud Light commercial in the late 80s/early 90s where a vampire goes up to the bar and says, "Give me a Light!" The bartender responded by opening the shade for him. The vampire then covered up his face with his cape and said, "Nooooo! BUD Light!"

Good times.

There was one Christmas commercial that ran for decades, I think. It was for Folgers and showed a kid named Peter getting home from college and making coffee for the family. They all smelled the delicious Folgers and came into the kitchen and gasped, "Peter!"

I always knew Christmas was right around the corner when they started running the Peter commercial.

Those ads were running in the mid-80s, which is why people of a certain age will laugh hysterically at this:

"What were Christa McAuliffe's last words?"
"BUD Light!"

Might be the sexiest BBQ commercial ever. I've never wanted to make love to plate of ribs until this commercial came on.

Also the Del Rancho commercial from early 80's wigged me out.

There was a kind of cereal that was so gross looking that the commercials dared kids to eat it.  It was some kind of brown goop cream of wheat.  Anybody know what I am talking about?

That and the Micro Machines guy. I HATED that guy.

Of course they took that one off the air and replaced it with the new, much creepier Incest Is Best At Christmas! commercial.  So universally creeptastic it spawned its own fanfiction archive.

I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that there is a fanfic archive of that, or the fact that someone knows about it and decided to post it on FARK.

Well, I've read any number of blog entries criticizing the incestuous tone of the commercial, it's only natural one of them would link to fanfiction.  Not that I ever read fanfiction
