It seems pretty clear that that entire site was set up specifically to post this inane crap. Did they pay a modmin or something to get this greened?

2013-12-12 01:56:45 PM
Now the modmins are greening blatant Seattle Homer "articles" that basically boil down to low-brow trash talking?

I'm sure Kaepearnick doesn't want to block out memories of their victory over Seattle in Week 14.

It would appear so. Straight click-bait pandering. In what I believe is a first, you and I can agree that this is BS.

This article is honestly no worse that the whining articles from Bay Area media about how Colin is "mean" mean to them.

Seahawks fans might be boycotting Beats by Dre, but they should try boycotting stupidity, too.

As a lifelong Seahawks fan, I can honestly say that Kaepernick seems like a nice enough guy and I was hoping the Seahawks would draft him.  I hope he has a long career.

Jim Harbaugh, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing get a running kick in the crotch.

Rather than play football, I think Niners Seahawks games should be decided by a Harbaugh Carroll crotch-kicking fight.

I would watch that on PPV if it was less than $20.

I did see one of the NFL reporters tweet during the game Sunday that he would be in favor of Seahawk/Niner game being played with flagless officials or no officials or something. I'd probably watch that too.

Seconded. I enjoyed watching Kaepernick in college and it really broke my heart to see him go to a rival.

That said, I'll be first in line to give him an earful when he visits Seattle, just like any other foreign quarterback who ventures into these lands. That's just the way of things.

How long has this hate been brewing against us Seahawks fans? Was it that Packers game? You'll get over it....maybe

2013-12-12 04:59:06 PM
Yeah, that was pretty stupid. Of course, so was that Beats commercial, which, as I said in yesterday's thread, is Kaepernick's personal martyrdom fantasy that should have been directed by Mel Gibson and performed in Aramaic.

I take it you didn't catch the video of Kaepernick shouting down his receiver on the bench after throwing an interception? It looked to me like Harbaugh's diaper-filling histrionics are wearing off on his players.

Maybe the receiver did something really, really dumb.

I'm not too bothered by players getting pissed at each other in the heat of the moment.  There's WAY too much emphasis on "chemistry" and everyone getting along.

Do we know what he was saying? I mean, I'm with you in thinking it didn't look too friendly, but after that whole thing where everyone misconstrued Dez Bryant's freak-out, I wasn't going to rush to judgement.

Frankly, it looked like Kaep was throwing a jumpball for Crabtree in man coverage (not an entirely terrible plan) and it was thrown short.

If the OP hadn't called Kaepernick a "nice enough guy" and if Kaepernick hadn't thrown the ball to said receiver under flytrap coverage when he had other guys open, I probably wouldn't have said anything. Agreed that football players don't need to hold hands and sing between plays, but the differences between SF and Seattle were really, really stark in the off-the-field footage of that game.

I'm just going to be a dick and say that the differences on the field were two points' worth of starkness.

That one is actually a great example. I don't mind 49ers or Seahawks fans at all but watching Red Sox/Yankees fans fight annoys me more because it brings out the worst in groups I already hate.

Seriously though, are Seahawks fans really that obnoxious compared to other teams? I'm pretty much on my own here in Arkansas. FWIW the most annoying fans in my area seem to be for Dallas.

Well, to be annoying they'd have to be interesting. I went to a lot of sports bars in Seattle for a buddy's work thing, and the Seahawks fans were... well they weren't really there because the Seahawks sucked that year. Met a lot of Sounders fans though.

2013-12-12 06:34:18 PM
Ok then I take it the issue is with fair-weather/bandwagon fans. I've been for the Seahawks all my life, except for a few years in my late teens when I started following the Dolphins more. Then after one final infuriating playoff loss, I said screw Marino, screw the Dolphins, threw a hissy fit, and essentially quit following football for a couple years. Came back to the Seahawks side and haven't looked back.

Annoying bandwagon fans are annoying regardless of their affiliation. Bandwagon Yankee fans are the worst though.

They're working toward being as douchey as the Dallas and Pittsburg fans all rolled into one, and this without even all the gawddam Lombardi Trophies to point to. FSM save us if they actually won one.

What's annoying to me is all the 12th man "we're the loudest best fans!" nonsense.  It's the stadium.  I lived in Seattle for six months, admittedly not during football season, and I certainly didn't feel like I was surrounded by the country's best fans.

Beyond that, they're fine.  The ones on fark are fine, other than the occasional semi-troll who insists that the stadium design has nothing to do with the volume.

Still seems like a relatively recent thing though. Aside from the SB loss, I don't recall people particularly ragging on Seahawks fans until the last couple years.

The cost of playing well is bandwagoners. Went through it with the Mariners and Sonics in the mid-90s and again in 2001 with Ichiro and the 116 win season. It was weird with the Seahawks in 2005, most of the bandwagon fans were so shocked at how well they did that they nearly forgot to show up to the office in their brand new Shaun Alexander jersies for the Friday before the SB.

The whole loudest stadium crap is ridiculous. I'll say this about Seahawk fans - if they find something they're good at, they WILL. NOT. LET. IT. GO. The weird sensitivity over KC attampting, then breaking, the record was insane. I thought it was a fun harmless publicity stunt the first time, but to actually bother to bring the guiness people back a 2nd time was stupid.

I'm not sure what's worse.  Whining about the officiating in that super bowl, or whining about the whining.

Both of those surface often here.

Success breeds hate in others.  Always does, in all vocations.  If the Seahawks end up winning the Super Bowl this year, look for the hate to double.  It's about as low-brow as it comes.

Not really.  What's douchey about acknowledging a known fact (success breeds haters)?
