Y'know, if you're going around your house, eating everything in it to see if it kills you, you might have bigger problems.

I have toilet bowl cleaner in my house as well. Highly poisonous, and yet I resist the urge to swig it back, or liberally sprinkle my food with it....

/in other words, poisonous or not, why does that make a difference? They're potted plants, not coffee-creamer-shaded rat poison.

It's a myth that they're deadly. DNRTFA.

"Like the Christmas myths about Santa Claus, flying reindeer and a toy workshop in the North Pole, the belief that poinsettias are poisonous is false," Wahl told WebMD the Magazine. According to the report, the myth that poinsettias are poisonous to humans is believed to have originated in 1919 after a young girl's parents attributed her death to eating the plant's leaves. According to Wahl, there are no reports of deaths due to eating poinsettia leaves but he did confirm that eating the plant can cause nausea and vomiting.

Aren't those symptoms of poisoning?

I'm not worried about the poinsettias since my family was already killed by deadly geraniums.

Our cats would kill themselves instantly. They devoured a small palm tree and love snacking on philodendron, pea plants, green bean leaves, etc. The first thing they do with plants is see how they taste.
