Xanadone: sambluesnark: I had a 26 pound Maine Coon at one time that would have left little pieces of no doubt expensive electronics strewn all over the place.
And dared you to do something about it.

I had a 7 pound tuxedo cat who would have done her best to destroy the spider bot (she'd attack anything, be it other cats, large dogs, vacuum cleaners, cheapo "animatronic" Halloween statues, my nose if I tried to sing...).  Oddly enough, her name was Spidey.

My brother once had a little torti who feared absolutely nothing. I'm not sure whether she could have destroyed the spiderbot, but she would have tried. She could not be effectively disciplined because she feared nothing. Most cats will immediately react to a squirt from a water bottle. But her? You'd pretty much have to soak her until she got disgusted with you and stopped whatever she was doing.

The only discipline method that worked when she started marking her territory was putting her outdoors (rural area, not much traffic) at night until she got the message that she was not the queen. It worked for a while but, unfortunately, she had this bad habit of chasing cars...

Sigh.

On a lighter note, the torti my mom has now, who fears the outdoors with a passion, played fetch with foil balls when she was younger. And rubber bands. She's not as energetic as she used to be which might be just as well, given how she'd get her claws caught on the carpet while running and flip herself over. She's still horrible with her claws -- she's one cat who might have benefited from being declawed in front -- but she doesn't flip herself anymore or do the crazy velcro kitty dash through the house so much.

Cats are awesome.

How could they have failed to equip that thing with a laser pointer?

The Briny Derp: Those kittens are not impressed whatsoever.  And their mom doesn't seem to mind running them over to chase the little robot poops.

I loved how she was picking them up in her mouth as if she was playing fetch.
