Waldo Pepper: czetie: Waldo Pepper: SilentStrider: Shanahan is trying to get fired instead of just quitting. If he's fired, he gets the remaining money on his contract. If he quits, he gets nothing,

But if another teams hires Shanahan to coach don't they have to pick up the final year of his contract?  I was under the impression to get the final pay you have to sit out the remaining years left on your contract.

I'm sure ESPN would be stupid enough to give him a nice warm seat in the studio for a year.

The man has no on camera personality.

So he's going to the NFL Network.

foo monkey: Magorn: eddievercetti: Doesn't matter, seems Shanny and Dan want to accomplish the empty arena record.

Hey I was there on Sunday for the entire Miserable game (partly cause my son is a KC fan and partly because the 200 level seats under the overhand weren't too bad in the freezing rain.)  and I can state taht the stadium was NOT empty.  There were TONS of KC fans there.  Enough to drown out the PA system with their tomahawk chop chant at times....

Now the fact that I paid $70 for a pair of tickets that had a $150 face value, and If I had waited a few more days could have gotten 100 level seats ($250 face), AND "Ultimate fan Zone" passes (an all you can eat BBQ and meet and greet with the players and cheerleaders before the game)  ($50 face but only offered to season ticket holders of premium seats) AND a parking pass ($30-70 depending on where you park) for $90 total, and the Standing Room Only Tickets in the "Party deck" were being burnt off for less than $10 ea by the professional scalpers?   That's a concern for Danny that all the $9.50 Bud Light he was selling can't fix

You still gave Dan Snyder $140+.

No $70 TOTAL for BOTH tickets, and I didn't give it to Danny but the Guy on Craigslist who'd already paid full face for the Season tickets.  Total to Danny was one "bottomless" $10 cup o soda  and a $4 pretzel, cause even my son who was pretty chilled thought $6 for a single cup of hot Chocolate was outrageous.

My one regret is I wore My Lavar Arrington Jersey to the stadium,  when I should have really worn my Albert Haynesworth one (Leesburg used to have a Redskins store outlet in our outlet mall and jerseys of folks who's just been cut from the team were often sold off at steep discounts....in AH's case the Jersey was $5  and his number was the same as my Son's HS football Jersey so I bought it)  to make a statement about how badly run this franchise is

Nabb1: Last year, RGIII is injured, so Shanahan starts him. This year, RGIII is healthy, so Shanahan benches him. Makes sense.

/Okay, that O-line is so hazardous to his health they should bear a warning label.

Last year, needed to win out to make playoffs.   This year, couldn't make playoffs if the rest of the teams in the league can no longer play.

Big difference in how any coach treats his starting QB.

That being said, RG3 is about as small a percentage of the problem here as possible.  Kyle Shanahan couldn't game plan his way against a 5 year old in Chutes n ladders, the O-line can't pass block girl scouts, the team led (might even still lead) in dropped passes, and the defense couldn't tackle a 90 year old with palsy.

You couldn't put Manning or Brady behind center here and hope to get any performance.  But yeah RG3 needs to do some growing up in the NFL.  He doesn't throw the ball away enough, he forces some passes on the run that he shouldn't, and he takes too long to make reads on many occasions.  I don't know if the injury has gotten to his head, or if its just a part of learning to become more of a pocket type passer and he just needs time that he didn't get in the offseason to work on.    But the media putting the blame at his feet is WAY over blown.

I'm gonna go with C) Shanahan wants to know if Cousins is worth signing at his next Offensive Coordinator gig.
