There were fans of that book? That thing was a steaming pile of crap. The movie was brainless but that isn't worse than a book trying to be "smart" that only wound up being painfully and epically dumb.

/ Hard to pick the worst part of the book

scottydoesntknow: As a generic zombie movie, it was ok. Better than some attempts, but worse in others (the biggest offense being a PG-13 rating).

Using the title 'World War Z' made it a piece of shiat.

It did.  When I read the books I immediately thought it would make an amazing mini-series on HBO, like Band of Brothers was.  That would let them keep the structure of the books, moving from set piece to set piece with different story tellers.

FTFA: Pitt previously said he'd love to star in a sequel to his hit film as he feels the first movie only touched lightly on the source material written by Brooks.

There's an understatement.

Benjamin Stone: With that said, I'll probably wait and torrent the sequel just like I did the original. ; )

I would have enjoyed the movie more if it had a different title.

I would have enjoyed the movie less if I had paid to see it.

I did pay for and enjoy the audiobook. It's quite good.

I'm not a fan of World War Z in either form.  Both were alright.  Book moreso.  Neither shared much in common.

i'll watch the new film but I'll still get mad its not like the book.

making the zombies runners instead of shamblers took away many good chapters that could have been used from the book.

Well shiat man, give the people a list of what we can and can't enjoy so we can get right on fixing all the wrongs of the world. You hold the key!

It should have been a multi-part Ken Burns documentary.

And it's not like there would have been a lot of huge, big budget battle sequences.  You'd obviously have Yonkers, Hope and a couple of others but by and large it would be very Walking Dead style.  Small main cast, bunch of extras in makeup and a handful of locations.  Probably would have been a lot cheaper than Game of Thrones.

Ok, so we are still angry that a movie we all knew wouldn;t be like the books is still not like the books.

We are also annoyed that a director who has made a couple of good films is now the director.

Have we been eating our fiber, because MAN do we sound constipated.

The movie is based on the title of Max Brooks' book 'World War Z'.
