(ABC 15)   After their meals didn't come with hash browns, couple calmly discuss their complaints with employees at McDonald's. Just kidding. They throw their food at a manager, call 911, and punch one of the workers (link replaced)   (abc15.com) divider line 112

Their hash browns are really farking good, you gotta admit. Paired with a McGriddle and a Diet Coke.... Ugh fast food breakfast doesn't get much better. Maybe Chick-Fil-A but that's it.

Over the hash browns? What a bunch of losers.

I never throw tantrums at McDonald's over anything less than the McFlurrys.

I'm curious.  Is society just out of ways to relieve aggression or are people just a whole lot more violent than they used to be?  I can't imagine that is the case and there are still wars to sign up for if you want to kill people.

I think that this kind of thing has always happened. The internet and the 24-hour news cycle have just allowed for much wider coverage of these stories.

Hey, a good hash brown is nothing to sneeze at. That crispy exterior, slightly fluffy interior... A slight greasiness to it depending on how it's cooked for you...

I think it's more along the lines of being fed up with the crappy service at your typical fast food place, where getting orders wrong is pretty much the norm these days.

Some funny stuff there...

"Michael, an employee and a customer all called 911." Proud to work where he eats?

"It was a matter of principle that they would talk to her so demeaning," Michael said.

Really, what principle were they following that made them do so?

Damn fifth grade reporting. I demand at least Jr. High quality reporting from my newspaper!

C. The news is more extensive and petty about what it covers than it used to be.

(This is almost always the answer, and is the answer in this case because statistics say people are actually less violent these days.)

I think it is a threshold problem. You go to work and don't kill anyone, you come home from work and don't kill anyone, you have a flat tire and don't kill anyone, you have to get your car smogged and don't kill anyone, and you watch the Dallas Cowboys play.  Eventually you reach your breaking point.

That gives customers the right to have a tantrum, throw their food around and threaten staff? I've worked in retail for many years including a pharmacy that was basically a methadone clinic and have watched tantrums or been threatened a number of times when things haven't gone the customers' way. You try and remain calm and fix the situation as best you can but at the same time if you just assume that the customer is always right and just give free shiat to everyone that thinks they are you can lose your job. Guess what, the customer isn't always right, sometimes they're an asshole with anger management issues who wants something for free.

I think the Mc D people are being asshats too (there's enough to go around here).

I've never had a wrong order questioned or denied at a fast food place, it doesn't cost them crap; and most employees are happy to correct it without calling a manager.

Sorry guys, when I was really down my treat to myself was a Big Breakfast once a week.  ate everything up but those hashbrowns, something wrong about the texture and flavor combination.  I think it's the oil they use and the fact that the potato pieces seem to all be hollow. I ate the hell out of all that other crap through, so it's not like I'm above it.
