I, too, am confused about the copenhagen filter.

Ta. So there's a filter for an F then a C then a K? Or is the abbreviation something more elaborate that I'm missing?

Credit goes to Unfreakable for disabling the filter in the title, making everyone try it out.

Yeah, I had to manually override the headline filter for a FC Kopenhagen abbreviation in a previous CL headline, because FCK (I'm disabling the filter comment for myself here) turns into "fark". Makes for a funny filterpwn, but completely unintentional.

I have the opportunity today to watch either the PSG or Man Utd.  Is either of these really worth watching?

I'll be matching Man Utd, but purely because I'm a Man Utd fan and want to see whether the performance is better than the last couple of EPL games. I don't understand how they could look so good in Europe than come home and lay two eggs like that...

Maybe Moyes' master plan is to copy that other EPL team in the '00s (Liverpool? Can't remember right now) who won the Champions League while being outside the CL slots in the league table, getting to go to the CL by default next season.

It doesn't help that I've missed the past two weekends of EPL competition.  Depending on how they shape up, I may just flip between the two on my tablet.

Doryphore: What's the tiebreak if United lose by 3 today?

My understanding is that if Shaktar beat Utd by any margin Shaktar will be top on head-to-head record. (The reverse fixture was a 1-1 draw.) The tiebreak sequence is

- points in head-to-head games
- GD in same
- Goals scored in same
- Away goals scored in same

Only if the two teams can't be separated head-to-head does overall group GD or goals scored get considered.

IIRC that came on top of Spurs just missing out of the CL the previous year too?

Oh, and since I forgot to do it yesterday, here's your update on the MIGHTY Oxford United.

They beat Wrexham 2-1 in the FA Cup 2nd round, booking a third round trip to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic in the first weekend of January 2014.

You may now return to your scheduled GLOREE BOY Champion's League football.

Rafael playing with a fast winger -- either Januzaj or Valencia -- is a very effective combination for Utd, I wish we would see it more often.

Oh, and Buttner looks like he as the skinning of the right back.

The places and coefficients are based on recent performance. If you feel English teams get too many places then you need other countries to knock em sooner.

Now that I looked it up, the rule about knocking the 4th-place team out of the CL only came after Liverpool got to be the 5th English entry the next season. So Spurs has 'pool to thank for that.

LucklessWonder: The places and coefficients are based on recent performance. If you feel English teams get too many places then you need other countries to knock em sooner.

I disagree with 4 places for the top 3, and even 3 places for 4-6 based on coefficients.

You get these idiotic races for 4th place.

Moyes is hiding the goals for Fergie Time, even though the United goal warranty wore off after Fergie's retirement.
