I read that in Carl Kassel's voice, and guessed the last word. Will he do my home answering machine?

Fark 'em. They're Saudis.
Send them some complimentary box cutters.

The travel chaos affected Senator Sola Adeyeye (Osun Central), who said: "What we are seeing right now is an epitome of a corruptocracy. A government for the corrupt, by the corrupt and for the corrupt.
"If there were no corruption even if a plane broke down and could not be removed in 16 hours, anybody who wants to take Abuja today will have Abuja easily. The cream of Nigeria is here and we have no means of escape.
"I came here 9am. I am supposed to be going to Ibadan. Why can't we have a crane that can push a plane off the tarmac? This is an insult to all Nigerians and an insult to the great Azikiwe in whose name this airport is named."

Asshole.

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Is something going wrong with Boeing? Even if it's just bad luck and not their products' faults, I gather that they're suffering a reputation blow.

The runway repair equipment was on the active run way?  And nobody thought that landing a 747 was a bad idea?

I never noticed the airline counter worker to the far left in that pic.

Everyone else is screaming and running around and she's just blissfully ignorant of everything going on around her.

It's funny because it's true.

Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye! Your grandmother whacks-off winos!
So, let's have another verse that's worse than the other verse.
And waltz me around again, Willie.

There was a young lady from Thrace
Whose corset grew too tight to lace.
Her mother said, "Nellie,
There's things in your belly
That didn't go in through your face."

CHORUS

There was a young plumber from lee
Who was plumbing his girl by the sea
She said, "Stop the plumbing,
There's somebody coming!"
Said the plumber, "What's coming is me."

CHORUS

with enthusiasm that needs to be masked

There are ways to clear the runway.

So let me get this right....

The runway was shortened due to some construction at the far end.  Planes had been landing with the runway in this condition no problem.

A Saudi jet full of military hardware didn't stop in time, and crashed in to this construction zone.

Despite planes landing safely all day avoiding this construction zone, because it now has a plane stuck in it, no other planes were allowed to land?

Makes about as much sense as I'd expect from Nigeria.

/went to Liberia and Niger a few months ago... the airports reminded me of airports on small Caribbean islands.

saftey stupid... if a plane has a problem and cant stop in time, they will now impact a large cargo aircraft full of military equipment and explosives instead of some small equipment and a bumpy road...

Maul555: saftey stupid...

I can assure you, from my many trips to Africa, safety is something they have not even considered.
