It's hard to take Australian bikers seriously when they're called "bikies". Sounds like they need to use training wheels on their Harleys.

If Australian knitting bikers are outlawed, what's next?

No, seriously, what's next?  If it's scrapbooking graffiti artists, I don't want to live.

FTA :

We are looking for like-minded folks who enjoy a bit of public guerilla craft, naughty knitting, seditious stitching, and the wind in their woolen streamers.

About time someone challenged that idiocy. Australia's in dire need of a First Amendment.

How much yarn do you need to knit a biker? And isn't Australia full of wool? I mean, don't all those sheep stations have plenty to spare? I'd think you could knit even the heftiest biker.

I was with her till she complained about the cops detaining the people who formed a drumming circle at the Stradbroke Island music festival.

This would work against sports fans too. A whole bunch of people in their favorite teams colors, badmouthing the opposing teams fans, also in their own colors. And then there are those church people in their finery, priests, etc.

I don't believe they thought their cunning plan all the way through.

They can use it against anyone they dislike, and the rest won't complain because they believe that it's really only there to keep a "certain element" down (and hey, you never know, complainers might get their groups onto the shiat list). Seems thought-through enough.

I have had some of my best life experiences with a drumming circle at a festival - they let me drum away and somehow all of us together make a pretty cool beat.

It all comes down to what Voltaire noticed.

I am not a fan of organised crime (the mother farkers dodge tax.)

But any law that attempts to restrict association is waaay too dangerous (hence why the similar SA laws were laughed out of the High Court.)

He might be a mother farking c*nt but he is still a citizen and deserves a little respect.  If you really want to jail him then do some serious cop work and arrest him for something serious, not just association.

Opinions of drum circlers don't count, no matter how well formed.

Please have someone copy/paste/repost your poinant remark.
