Papa John's Says...

If Weird Al had less talent and parodied only VU and Lou Reed and concentrated his parody subject matter on food, particularly pizza, you might get something like this.

It will be panned by critics,

Not a "tribute band."

"Tribute bands" attempt to recreate the experience of seeing the subject band perform -- they may attempt to duplicate the equipment, costumes, lighting, stage mannerisms, etc. of the subject band, or even go so far as to duplicate complete set lists. See, e.g. Dark Star Orchestra, Australian Pink Floyd Show.

"Cover bands" attempt to play the songs of the subject band, but don't particularly try to ape the appearance or other characteristics of the subject band while doing so. See, e.g. most of the bar bands you see

"Parody bands" -- of which Culkin's band is -- focus on the music of one particular band, but alters the music, lyrics, instrumentation, arrangements, etc. for humorous effect. See, e.g. Dread Zeppelin, Mini-Kiss, etc.

Jenny said when she was just five years old there's nothing to eat at all
Every time she turns on the oven, there's nothing there at all
Then one fine morning she called up a pizzeria
She didn't believe what they had at all
She started eatin' up that fine fine pizza
You know, she really craved a pizza roll
Despite all the indigestion, you know you could claim it provided nutrition
And it was alright

Much like how Chicago-style is a parody of actual pizza.

I don't know what crust to order
But I'm going to try for pineapple, if I can
'Cause it tastes so awesome with some ham
And it's for take-out and half-baked,
And I want some crushed red pepper flakes.

Awesome tribute band. Seen them 6 out of the last 8 years, and only missed this year because they didn't seem to have a US leg of their tour....

Well, the good news out of all this is that even though he looks pretty freaky in the pic in TFA, he's definitely looking better than the LAST time we all saw him.

But hands unwashed
Now I have the runs
The pepper flakes
Hot on my buns
And the sauce it burns my tongue
And the tongue is in my head

Heard him on Har Mar Superstar's podcast, who he plays gigs with.     For a superstar child actor, he comes across as really down to earth and likable.  He lives in Paris and lives the life he wants.    It's nice to have a lifetime supply of FU money by the time you're 10.
