Brody dies next episode. That epic preview last night with Brody basically resigning himself to his fate/death was the indication.

I'm still not sure if Mandy Patkinson shaving his beard is indication that he dies too

/I'd be happy with Brody dying
//I'd question whether I'd want to keep watching if Saul died

I have to admit, last night's episode has completely redeemed the almost-train wreck that "Homeland" was becoming this season.  In fact, I'd say it was the episode that "Homeland" fans have long been waiting for.  It was a true spy thriller, with Saul, Brody, and Carrie all playing their roles exactly as we had been expecting them to for the longest time.  I can actually forgive the show for the long boring Dana subplot.

Easily the best show on TV until GOT comes back

I've liked that actor since I saw him in Band of Brothers.  He was great.  I'll watch this show once I have the time.

It's been a fairly awful season for TV really.

That's what I was thinking.  No way "Homeland" could be the best show right now.  As much as I like "Homeland" after last night's episode, it is still not as good as "Boardwalk Empire," which just had its worst season but still managed to be better than 99% of shows out there.  But yes, it's been a fairly awful season for TV this year.  I did discover "Sleeper Cell" on Netflix, which is very identical to "Homeland" and was also produced by Showtime.  Great stuff.

Second season had it's moments. It was fairly okay up until that one episode where Brody goes all Jack Bauer "I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME"

I actually didn't mind this season, mostly because of trying to figure out the long-game that Saul was trying to play. If Saul was lost this season, I think I probably would've stopped watching. As it is, Saul really makes this season enjoyable, as he did last season

I mean come on, how could you not feel a little choked up when Saul looked up and saw Carrie and that relieved, sad smile of his popped up on his face as the very last scene from Season 2? That was some of the best 5 seconds of a show.

I mean yeah, Homeland could be better, but it's still pretty good, compelling tv. Especially when it goes into the spy-thriller stuff that it did last night or the political chess-match episodes that you had in the episode that ended with Saul locking the senator in the conference room

I thought the season was great I'm a sucker for period pieces anyway but Boardwalk has the best cast of actors ever put together for a TV show I could watch them recite the ingredient list from a pack of Skittles and still enjoy it more than just about anything else on TV.

Brody's son should have died in the bombing, that would have gave a far better reason for showing the family than the crap they did this season

I'm not a viewer of "Homeland", but I believe "unjumping the shark" is better described as "grew the beard" (per TV Tropes),

Or, in this case, "shaved the beard"?

"American Horror Story: Coven". A few more, a break, and then the final stretch after the new year.

"Sleepy Hollow" is WTF fun for a FOX show. Even got renewed.

The best thing about Homeland this season is that we accidentally also ended up watching Masters of Sex. I'm not wild about the show, but Mrs Servo is and I'll encourage her talking about sex.

/watched Firefly for the first time this fall (I was overseas when it came out ten years ago)

Yes, I know it's a network show, but I am really enjoying "The Blacklist."  Watching James Spader chew the scenery for 60 minutes is still great television.  I would probably enjoy the hell out of a spin-off show that features a younger James Spader doing all those foreign operations he keeps alluding to and winking about in the show, as a prequel to "The Blacklist."

Not reading comments, and having watched only half of last weeks episode and none of last night's, I'm reserving judgement.

I'm just about ready to give up.

The funniest thing about Homeland is the way Carrie ends up on covert ops every time, and EVERY time she goes off and does her own thing. You'd think they would have learned by now, but no - in TV land you have to have Carrie on teh ground so she can run out of the van / break cover / contact the target...etc.

I checked out a few episodes back, when Saul's wife was cheating on him.  I'll check back in post-finale and just binge them all.  It's how I watched the first season.  Second season suffered from me watching it in real time and waiting for something to happen (nothing ever did).

And I don't give a shiat less about Dana's angst.  Stop giving her airtime.

The last few episodes have been very strong, but the moment that marked the show returning to its once great stature was when Saul locked the Senator in the conference room.

Last night's Homeland was balls out awesome:  Did NOT see that end coming at all.

And, sadly, they've painted Brody into a corner that I just can't see him getting out of without a bodybag.  Which sucks, because, as has been apparent this season - Brody-less episodes are generally less than stellar.  But the past two weeks, Damien Lewis has been flawless.  The only downside for Lewis is he has the shiat luck to get pitted against Brian Cranston for next year's Emmy's, and nothing is going to prevent Cranston walking away with the Emmy:  Not even Lewis's brilliance. (Granted, not that it's not deserved on Cranston's part...but Lewis has just been unbelievable.)

And the only justification I can see for them letting Carrie still run around, being on missions, is the bodycount from the bombing:  The CIA is just shortstaffed right now?

I think, and am very much hoping for, that next season is going to be more focused on Saul. And hell, if you remember, before they love crap that started last season between Brody and Carrie (and even then, it wasn't terrible when she was trying to nail him for being a terrorist, it was the last arc of the season that it got unbearable), Saul and Carrie on screen were some of the best moments. Hell, even this season, the best moments are Saul and Carrie, or Saul and Dar Adai or Saul and Senator Dickface

I've always thought this season was the transition from Carrie/Brody to Carrie/Quinn/Saul/Adai. Brody has needed to die for at least a season now, he dies next episode. The success of the assassination boosts Saul to head of CIA. Carrie gets Saul's old job as task master. Quinn goes to being field agent/assassin. Adai creeps in the shadows.

"Sleepy Hollow" is good fun, if you aren't the type to complain about all the liberties they took from the original story (the only things that are kept from the story are the names of the characters).
I've also been liking "Almost Human" so far, although in the long term it will depend on where they go with the concept.

Tara is the only likable, redeeming character on SoA.  For Jax to allow anything to happen to her, would say a lot about him.  With "Breaking Bad," you already know Walter White's a bad person, but at least you can see the arc of his transformation, and he attempted to redeem himself in the end as best as he could, by making things right.  With Jax, the writers are still propping him up as a good protagonist, and he's putting on air like he's this genius strategist - but why's he still so financially broke all these years and people around him suffered so many casualties?  That's a show with many twisted logics, and no long-term planning.  It's just good for what it is - a mindless soap opera on bikes.

Each ep that had minimal Margaret being conflicted about her husband's money made me a little happy.
