There's a question which seems appropriate at this time:
"What the fark did they expect to happen?"

Death by high speed sausage injection doesn't seem like a way I'd want to go.

Taking a church key to the top of a can of beans and setting it next to the fire until it bubbles is traditional hobo cooking.

Yes, but these guys skipped that first step.

Seen this on a steam pipe before.  At power plants you occasionally find a steam pipe with no insulation.  I knew a guy who put a can of pork and beans on one and forgot to poke a hole in the top.   Just about the time he realized he didn't do that it explodes and covers him in liquified pork and beans.  Wasn't totally funny since he did have some burns from it.  I however had already reserved my window seat and laughed my ass off.

Happened to me at my camp once, a friend of mine instead of eating breakfast with us decided he would eat a can of something. Dropped in the fire without opening it. Then proceeded to do other things outside the camp. I came back to the camp with 2 ladies, and we all sat a few meters from the campfire, not knowing what was going to happen. Then POOF and one of the ladies is totally frozen in fear, as she was struck with the contains of the can. She had to strip a few layers to avoid burns.

Then my assholish friend came back, saying as he was a smartypants: "oh boy, you already convinced one to strip heh?".

Hes not allowed in my camp anymore.

They were Swedes, which makes me feel good, because I thought, for sure, they would be from the US.

First off:  Sausage can come in a can?  I don't think I've ever seen that.

I was about to say that the comedy factor goes up significantly with pork and beans.  But mostly because of the liquid, which is unfortunately the molten hot bit that makes this occasionally tragic.

If everyone had the slightest bit of scientific knowledge we'd never have any good fail videos to laugh at.
