Masturbating Adolescents is on after Bonnie and Clyde.

Most of these events-the murders, the shootouts-occurred, but the specifics are heavily fictionalized

Ya don't say?
It's a farking movie you dolt. It for entertainment not education.  If you want authenticity, watch a farking documentary.

Since it's on A&E  it will be a given that they will turn out to be alien-ghosts.

Well, I wouldn't have chosen Bonnie and Clyde as two sympathetic protagonists, what with the murdering and all, but good luck!

"Masturbating Adolescents" is the name of the reality-show pilot I'm pitching to ABC Family.

Sounds like masturbating teenagers are the intended audience.

Now THAT is how you pan something.

I've kinda figured this would suck, just from the promos.  Will probably check it out, but "Mob City" already looks a lot more promising, when it comes to gangsters.

CSB - a buddy of mine has a grandmother who was related to Bonnie.  She remembers when Bonnie would come over for family gatherings she wasn't the most womanly woman and she would always curse and drink and be pretty disrespectful towards others.

I'm liking "Mob City" so far... they're getting the details right for the period, and the portrayals of the characters of Police Chief Bill Parker and Benjamin Siegel are just about spot on.

(fun fact: Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry used to work for Parker as a PR man and speechwriter... the story goes that Spock was based on Parker's personality)

I'll probably give this version of "Bonnie and Clyde" a pass... Holliday Grainger is a cutie...

(although she'll never hold a candle to that first shot of Faye Dunaway from the 1967 movie)

... but they have, from what I've heard, completely screwed up the historical aspect of every character involved, from Bonnie to Clyde to Methvin to Hamer.

I was honestly surprised how many people they show smoking.

Think of the children!

Cigarettes, booze, dames, "Tommy guns" and dynamite.  Plus a good cast.  What's not to like, if you're into that sort of thing?  Watched the "Mambo Kings" again last week.  Guilty pleasures.

"Mr. Luciano? This is ____" etc.

/there are no outstanding warrants for my arrest, thank goodness

As a matter of fact, I love that sort of thing.  Although they tend to repeat a lot, I love watching "Mobsters" to hear the true stories of these guys.  Have not seen Mambo Kings.

What I expect the show to be based on the commercials.

Bonnie: "We're Bonnie and Clyde"
Bonnie: "Bonnie and Clyde"
Bonnie: "Do you know Bonnie and Clyde?"
Clyde: "This is my woman, Bonnie and Clyde"
Bonnie: "REMEMBER BONNIE AND CLYDE!"
Bonnie: "My name is Bonnie and Clyde"
<end credits>

Maybe those assholes should just come up with an original idea for once.

Sounds like they made a movie "based on" the B&C from the Beatty/Dunaway film.

Either that or they started with "man & woman on crime spree" and ignored the biographical/historical data altogether. Wouldn't be the first time Hollywood ignored the truth of the story to sell Tropes & Action, Part 853: 1930s Edition.

Sarah Hylande. The end.

I confess - I watched it. It was horrible. I understand now why it is showing on Lifetime. They've really made this into a chick flick with Bonnie as the strong - and fame hungry - "brains" of the operation.

I won't be watching part 2

If it starred a horse, it'd be called "Bonnie & Clydesdale".

mistrmind: If it starred a horse, it'd be called "Bonnie & Clydesdale".

The horse belonged to Texas Ranger Frank Hamer.  Yeah, they spent some bucks on the production, but it was still pretty lame.  Kept having "Wait - what?" moments and the urge to fact check, but fell asleep instead.
