Bucky Katt: No, we don't. Use your imagination.
GreenAdder: IO9 is a Gawker site. I don't really need to pay them any attention. I can just as easily read reddit and Tumblr on my own.
sure haven't: Why do people need animations done? There was a whole movie made about the books, and it was quite good (not trolling).
HotWingAgenda: Well, the movie farked up Zaphod.
mamoru: Well, I think the movie was a reasonably okay incarnation of the Guide (though they just had to Americanize it and throw in stupid romance plots). It had its moments, even some original ones (like the face slapping things on Vogsphere), that were definitely in the right spirit and quite funny. But, it really doesn't hold a candle to the brilliance of the original radio series (or even the books, which are also excellent). IMNSHO.
Smashed Hat: Every once in a while I try watching the movie but I shut it off in a fit of rage over the missed opportunities. The elements are all there. The principal cast is great on paper. But the dumbing down of the jokes turned it into something almost, but not quite, entirely unlike The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy./ the old BBC TV series may have been cheesy but it was a far better adaptation// those animations look cool, I wish somebody would do the whole thing that way
Unoriginal_Username: Bucky Katt: No, we don't. Use your imagination.This. And the way Adams writes, it's near impossible to not visualize what you're reading
opiumpoopy: Before 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue'. 1980- something.

Mugato: Maul555: [nehovistecose.files.wordpress.com image 700x457]Whatever the flaws in the film, and there are many, Alan Rickman's Marvin was genius.
Professor_Nutbutter: opiumpoopy: Before 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue'. 1980- something.1978, actually. And yes, I listened to them.
cheer: Mos Def's Ford; each time he delivered a line, it just seemed...off.
mamoru: cheer: Mos Def's Ford; each time he delivered a line, it just seemed...off.That's exactly what I liked about him. Made him actually seem like an alien. ;)
opiumpoopy: You got me. I was only five in 1978 and only heard the first episodes when they were broadcast with the second series in 1980...
