Just got home, catching up on the matches.  Learning that betting on a team with 'Manchester' in their name is a big frickin mistake.

/there goes my banker, thanks Man City

zoobaby: desertgeek: Langston: ADubs86: SUAREZ!!!!!

Thank god, I was about to curl up in a ball with worry.

I hate how slow EspnFC is with score updates. It's still showing 2-1

Use the BBC text commentary. It's far better.

Guardian text commentary is usually a bit more snarky if you prefer that style.

Yeah, been a fan of the Grauniad mbm commentaries since at least the Japorea World Cup

In the 90th minute and Suarez is still running hard.  He's hungry for more...nom nom nom...

Fer gets Norwich's 2nd goal and the Hawthorns is looking very empty now

Apart from the away end

I've switched over to LiveScore.com.

Thank you Stoke and Southampton.

Stoke get there third!!

Jose's interview is going to be great. Get the popcorn

2013-12-07 11:49:38 AM
As soon as they finished the WC draw, people were saying, "Hey John Terry. Chelsea plays Liverpool at the end of the season. I'm not saying you should injure Suarez, but, you know."

West Ham alternating between thug and pantywaist.  Whole team of Drogba's.

2013-12-07 11:50:14 AM

Lord Jubjub: Remember a few years ago when 'own goal' was Man United's second leading goal scorer?  Looks like he's showed up for the Liverpool-West Ham game.

I though it was Rooney, then Berbatov, then Own Goal.

Okay, now it's over.

Horrible timing NBC.  Switched just AFTER Stoke scores.

3-4 of 5 goals in that game were own goal.  Insane.  At lease Luis scored one that was legitimate.

Ex-Liverpool players are having a time this year in the clutch.

I'm hoping Italy does their start slow thing so that England lucks into a 1-1 or even a 1-0 win. Loss to Uruguay, win over Costa Rica and a second place finish leading to a game vs the group C winner (Cote d'Ivoire?) and the inevitable quarter final exit.

Well, NOW it is.
So far I'm looking at -25 for the day.  Ugh.
Tottenham, you're my only hope...*chokes*

Went with some "cheeky" predictions this week and I will pay the price.  I'm going to insist that they were cheeky and not borderline potato.

Don't underestimate CR, they've got good team speed that could wreak havoc on England.

Why do I have the feeling that I banker busted 3 weeks in a row...

This might be the most exciting season in the EPL in quite a few years.  If Everton knocks off Arsenal, tomorrow, there will be five teams at the top within four points.

Liverpool win the scrappiest game I've ever seen.

2013-12-07 11:57:49 AM
Glad to see Stoke beating Chelsea, but I'm on -20 going into the Spurs match.  That's WITH my banker on Pool (who should have left the GD at 2 ya bastards!). Well I guess -15 since I get the 5 point banker bonus.

2013-12-07 11:58:24 AM
I will have to console myself with Chelsea and Man City dropping points.  Not that I truly think 'Pool finishes above either this season but the longer we stay up there the better it looks.  Here's hoping Sunderland does Tottenham and The Arse take points off of Everton.

Not taking them lightly at all. Just feel they are England's best shot at a non-nervy win in the Group of Near Death.

I don't mind seeing them drop points either, better for my team.  But this darn FFPL gives me such conflicting feelings.

"WOO! We're moving up in the ranks now...but...I lost 20 points.  AHHHH!"

That just reminded me of this: http://youtu.be/W8_Kfjo3VjU?t=6m44s  Replace AOL with ESPN.

Web Dude: [comes to a window of AOL before 3.0] Dude, AOL???? Don't use AOL! It's dial-up networking.
Chip: Well how am I going to get to the internet without AOL?
Web Dude: I... It's... it's broadband.
Chip: But I got like 4000 hours for free.
Web Dude: It's -- ughh. We have a corporate OC3 -- it costs like $1000 a month, so don't use AOL. [closes AOL, only to find...] Whoa.
Chip: Can you carry over my hours?
Web Dude: What -- what is *this*??? [mousing over desktop] "Fuk u..."
Chip: It's... my desktop?
Web Dude: What... there are icons, they spell "Fuk u!" and there's a picture of a penis.

Not exactly sure how this relates to anything...

If I were a Pool fan (which EPL wise. I kind of am) I'd be ecstatic that Champs League is a possibility.

/Makes 'em less likely to lose Suarez
//Or be a selling club come season's end.

I've got Tottenham beating Sunderland 2-1.  After these opening games, I'm really wondering if I should change that.
I mean, it's Sunderland...but...it's also Tottenham...

2013-12-07 12:16:52 PM
So Arsenal must face Chelsea, Man City, Everton, and Tottenham in the next five games (they also have West Ham).  Interesting.

I know that feeling.  I've tried to mitigate it by placing banker chips on games where, if I bust the banker, I'm still delighted by the unexpected result and massive upside for 'Pool.  There isn't always a good game for that though.  This week I just figured that the Canaries would be terrible and that a West Brom home win was a safe bet.

So far, +5 for me. The last OG screwed me out of a perfect on Liverpool-West Ham

Arsenal's title hopes may very well be defined by that stretch of games.  Personally, I have no expectation for Liverpool to challenge for the title this year and the team that actually wins, as long as it isn't Man U, is of little relevance to my hopes for my club.

Since all four of those teams are Liverpool's rivals for a top 4 spot in this crazy season, I will be cheering for Arsenal to take as many points as possible from that stretch of games.

COYG!

So, does Moyes survive in the job until the end of this season? Next season?

Langston: Just changed it to a draw.

I've got it as a 1-1 draw.  I think hoping for a Sunderland win is just too much.
