Yeah, Black Mirror's Fifteen Million Merits episode feels a lot like the path we are heading down. Not talking about the bike riding thing... but we will probably feel like mice running endlessly on a wheel (which I imagine was the metaphor they were going for), trying to stay ahead of the cost of everything, and having TV and commercials shoved down our throats by corporations - ignoring the commercials costs you money or gets you punished.
