(WMUR New Hampshire)   If you are going to steal pallets from a former employer, don't steal his forklift. And if you steal a forklift, don't try to drive it down an off-road path   (wmur.com) divider line 10

It's not news, it's BORING news.

I can't believe how much the average forklift weighs.  They would be a terrible off-road vehicle.  Our (fairly average sized) forklift weighs 9,000 pounds, or more than three times what my car weighs.
It would probably sink right into a trail.

/Boring anecdote, bro

We sell our used pallets for, I think, a dollar each. That guy was going to do a lot of work for little money. Kinda like having a job.

" He faces two felony counts of theft and unauthorized taking"

So can you take something without authorization and not describe the situation as theft? Or steal something when the taking is authorized? I'm not quite sure why we're using two different terms to seemingly describe the same action.

I often see them for free around here.

/last time I was at a big flea market, I spotted many products made of re-purposed pallet-wood.

I'm guessing they weren't wood pallets, 'cos most plants give 'em away. Probably the black hard plastic ones.
