The show's continued crassness rhymes perfectly with MTV's shift, through the years, away from a dorky sort of music fandom (Peter Gabriel has 13 Video Music Awards) and Kurt Loder-y gravity and toward the Jersey Shore.

OMG!! A network called MUSIC Television actually played music, had music fans, and "music fandom"!!!! Seriously, what an absolutely stupid statement, and I haven't even really ever LIKED Peter Gabriel all that much.

As for Thje Real World, THIS is really what we have to thank for all of the reality bullshiat saturating the networks today. Sure, there was the show in the 70's, but TRW turned it "sexy", and I will never forgive them for this shiat, every time a new Duck Dynasty, a Real Housewives or a Deadliest Catch comes out, it's just another spot something worth watching could be playing. And fark MTv for becoming unwatchable. You went from something that everyone would play in the background at parties to a network nobody wants to turn on anymore.
