Even then this is only for encryption on transmission. This doesn't say anything about their data storage policies.

Wow. It's amazing how much progress the big ISPs have made implementing high end encryption. The NSA won't be able to get anything now.

https is important for the one or two people who don't immediately add an exception as soon as they see a security certificate error.

A look at Facebook's "actual" security policy:

1. Has a user been affected in a way that divulges their personal info? No action, since they probably posted it themselves as a status update.
2. Has a user been affected in a way that both divulges their personal info AND allows us to sell them something? Decrypt, send to all advertisers. Pretend to drop blood in a shark tank..
