DC sports radio is not good.  In fact, it is very bad.

Well, with Rob Ford it can't get worse.

My favorite part of the Junkies show is when they piss off their guests and get hung up on.  That line you don't cross with guests - they leap over it.  But sometimes their sports (or just general) ignorance or blind homerism is just stunning.  If you want perspicacious insight into local DC sports, you probably won't find it there.  If you want to laugh at current events, then this is your show.  Rob Ford is a good match.

except they aren't even all that funny.  I'm hoping at some point that commit some huge on-air no no and get kicked off for a while.  the behave like spoiled upper middle class white boys who were never told No by their mommies

I live in DC and will listen to the Junkies from time to time, as I am getting out of the city to where I can get some sane sports radio.

They were basically bashing Ford this morning as they review some of his picks. He apparently picked the 49ers over the Seahawks because he said Seattle would rest it starters. Smart guy, that Rob Ford... said no one.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that think the Sports Junkies suck.

From the lack of comments in this thread it appears they aren't loved

So he's saying Seattle won't be trying to win against San Francisco?  I wonder why he never made it in football.

Wonder if he will get enough to "eat" there. He says he has plenty at home.

I have said it before and I will say it again. I have no idea how they are still on the air. They were bad at HFS and are worse on the fan.

/Still better than Mickey, Amelia and Speigal.

Doesn't Dan Snyder own every sports talker in DC? I think that's what I've heard before.

The afternoon show on my local sports talker is sane and well thought. They attack stupid callers (currently people who think NIU QB Jordan Lynch is a legit NFL QB prospect), and do a decent job of interviewing their guests.  I can't imagine being in a market where blind homerism and stupidity reign on the sports airwaves.

I like them and listen to every one of their shows via podcast since I live in Idaho.  Their show is a lot worse during the football season since they spend so much time talking about the Redskins, but overall I'm entertained by them.

He owns the AM station. These guys are on the FM one owned by CBS.
