The local news in Detroit is the most disturbing, depressing thing on television in America. There can't be anything worse anywhere else.

And I'm not even talking about all the depressing crime stories they cover, I'm talking mainly about the "human" "Interest" stories, the on-air "personalities," and the overall tone of the production.

It's soul-crushing.

i didnt know mort crim helped inspire anchorman because i dont pay attention to that kind of thing, but i find it marvellous to know detroit still has moments of relevancy.
