I am taking the dogs to see Santa today.  This should go well.  not.  Lots of dogs at Petsmart so their parents can take embarrassing photos of them with Santa.  I've never done this.  I'm scared!!!!!  (my camera is charging now!!!  Hopefully I will get some good shots of the boys and Santa, if not, they will be back next Saturday...shudder)

Dyson may have some explaining to do...this is what I found when I came home yesterday.  Not the first one that he has taken off the tree.  Just like toddlers...I've moved all ornaments up out of reach of a short dog.

Nick is being a real butthole right now. He's an indoor/outdoor guy and insists on us letting him in/out nearly every 5-10 minutes. Hubby and I are baffled as to why he doesn't want to stay inside because it's (texas) cold as hell. I got fed up earlier and left the window open for a few minutes. As you can see, he had no idea what to do about that, lol!

spinach gunk: yobbery: spinach gunk: [spinachgunk.smugmug.com image 597x768]

How's Buddy?

He's actually having not a bad week!  Appetite is very good and he's taking all his meds!  I just don't get how he can be OK some days and at death's door a week later, and back.  The vet can't explain it, and doesn't know what else to do (other than trying to keep him comfortable, of course).  So we can't figure it out, but we know he could go at any time, so we just treasure these good days of a happy comfy Buddy at our sides, and leave it at that!  Can't think about anything else and don't want to.  He sends contented tail wags to everyone.

He's lost a little bit of weight recently, so he gets cold more easily, but on the plus side, his nice soft winter coat fits him very nicely now!  Which is good because it's getting well below freezing here.  But not so good because he absolutely hates wearing clothes and mommy *makes* him wear this when it's this cold.  He forgets about it and seems to enjoy himself more once we're outside, but eeew he can't get it off soon enough when we return!

[spinachgunk.smugmug.com image 800x600]

Blankies are where it's at.  Coats?  Pffft.

I assume the vet checked his liver enzymes? My rottie had that kind of cycle until her thyroid was checked and found her liver was not working right...prob a result of the heartworm treatment she had as a puppy....and then had to give her supporting medication called Denosyl.

Certain foods like organ meat and cheese would compromise her liver function and make her sick...Denosyl alleviated that but even then certain foods especially with high fats would set it off.

tigerose: My right eye as decided that it wants to be cranky. By which I mean itchy, red, feels like I have a marble in my eye...it hurts to blink. I am less than amused. I am going to see the doc tomorrow.

Do you feel a slight tugging sensation on the eyeball when you blink? If so, you may have scratched your cornea and there is a microscopic piece of extra tissue there. (Been there, done that. It is no fun) Either way, go see a doctor ASAP!

Today is decorating day at Casa de Yobbery.
I have all the boxes out and the fuzzballs are eager to get started. Hopefully we can all get through it without incident.

the lawyer for the couple injured in the explosion say both are currently at an impatient rehab facility in Philadelphia.

I'm not a doctor, but if they were both critically injured, perhaps they should be moved to an in-patient facility.  That place sounds eager to discharge them too early.

Do you really???  I hate snow.  Well, I like to LOOK at it in the distance, but not drive around in it, or shovel it.

I love driving in snow....always did. Especially at night when there's hardly anyone on the road and I'm 'cutting tracks'. There's something about it I find very peaceful.

Me too. I had a 914 that was great in the snow. I had a blast.

What exactly is an "...impatient rehab facility..." ?

djrudiak: What exactly is an "...impatient rehab facility..." ?

Basically a nursing home with additional perks. Instead of having to transport them off site for physical, speech, and occupational therapy, they have the facilities on site to do it.
