No they don't.

Atheist Don't Have No Song

Fact: Any Christian who entertains for money (and that includes the mega church pastors) knows that they are scamming people.

True christians just go about their day helping out  and doing good works and not judging anyone.

Christian Rock sucks.  I can't imagine Atheist rock will fare any better.  Too much message, too little rock, and not nearly enough drugs.

If it rocks, you can sing about trolls and fairies and gnomes and it's awesome.

Yes, you, Floyd and Zep.

"Eventually, I came home from work one day and just told my wife, 'I think I'm having a little bit of a crisis of faith. I just realized today that I can't make a case for Christianity that would convince myself,' " he says.

Translation: "There ain't no money in Christian rock."

Invented atheist rock? Outside of the Christian genre and the Satan rockers it's ALL atheist rock. There is no musical genre more secular.

Just because a song doesn't hammer on about theistic subjects and worship, that makes the music atheistic? Yes, I suppose it would, in a grammar-fascist kind of way, but it's a gross overstatement otherwise.

For the most part, yeah. The lifestyle isn't sex, drugs, rock and roll and repentance.

However sometimes something slips through:

There's a difference between a musician who's Christian, and a Christian musician. The former are sometimes pretty talented, while the latter sometimes have nice gear and good chops, but that's about it.

This is the dumbest f*cking thread I've seen on Fark.  The militant atheists are the biggest assholes on the interwebs.  I had Glenn Kaiser (frontman of Rez Band and Kaiser/Mansfield) over at my house earlier this year and he was the coolest.  Still 100% devoted to the faith.  Still throwing jabs at the establishment.  Still playing a blues guitar like a badass mutherf*cker.

Also friends with the guys from +LIVE+.  II'm in York, PA)  Ed became a total ass to the rest of the band and demanded exorbitant "lead singer fees."  When he didn't get what he wanted, he went solo and declared himself a Christian singer.   Nobody around here pays him much attention.

Rock on, atheists... You're as annoying as Trinity Broadcast Network is to the rest of the world.

This is  an example of the  evangelical binary spiritual approach where  "all or nothing" sometimes backfires and drive someone away.

You never should have let someone else tell you what to believe to begin with.

I always put him in there with Alice Cooper - shock pop. I don't really care what people believe, so I don't pay much mind to such thing. I don't even take labels like "Satanic Black Metal" to mean much more than "double bass line, no fill, high shrie... SATAAAAAANARRRRRGHHHHHH", which is exactly how it should be when it comes to entertainment.

Agreed.  The time to grow a beard is when the hair on you head has largely fallen out.

As for these guys, I'll bet they come full circle right about middle age and make a triumphant return to Christian Rock in order to sustain their music careers well into old adulthood.

To be fair, there are some people in CCM that had real careers and decided to jump ship for personal reasons.... but exception to the rule doesn't even begin to describe it.

There are plenty of Christians who create valid art that reflects their wordview (Kings X, U2,  and so on) and then there is Christian music industry that is a giant ball of suck and, lets be honest, is exactly as awful as the secularists claim it is. If I thought that commercial culture actually reflected the Christian religion I'd be an atheist too....

(plays in a band with other Christians, next record coming out on a regular label. If working in the Christian music industry doesn't make you take up devil worship, nothing will...._

Fun with your Christian Rock fan friends...

When you're riding in a car with them and they pop in a Christian rock CD, as the first song fades out and before the next one starts, ask them "I wonder what the next song will be about"?

As the second song starts to fade out, ask them "I wonder what the next song will be about?"

As the third song starts to fade out, ask them "I wonder what the next song will be about?"

Usually about the fourth song, they'll turn the stereo off in disgust with your heathenly ways.

No.... Making up stories will not help you be cool. You would be riding in the trunk trying anything like this for any reason. Being a douche may come natural to you, but even Christians wouldn't take it. Thanks for playing though.
