Well think about it, subby, if they get their way, they will have to give up all that anonymous donor money.  That would sure stick it to the libs, so you should support them.

Watchdog.org? You mean the group connected to the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity?

Little bit of pot and kettle here, it seems.

Yeah, I got a chuckle out of that myself. "501(c)(3) warns about 501(c)(3) warning about other 501(c)(3)s"

Funniest part is, the more the GOP and the neocon super-rich moneyed interests whine about these anonymous donors, the more attention is splashed upon their own anonymous donors.

See, subby. When you're a partisan hack, principle doesn't matter. All that matters is sticking it to your political enemy. Now do you understand?

It's telling that these guys have an entry in Sourcewatch on the first page of a Google search.

. . . the Franklin Center cosponsored and played an active role in a two-day conference organized by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation. The Right Online Agenda conference included such breakout sessions as 'Intro to Online Activism' and 'Killing the Death Tax" and featured speakers such as conservative U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Tea Party activist Sharron Angle, a Republican who was then running against Harry Reid in the election for U.S. Senate in Nevada. No Democratic legislators were included in the program . . .

So NOW you guys are worried about the effects anonymous money can have on politics.  OK, good.  Let's get rid of it, on both sides.

/seems to me the group has made their point far better than they could have otherwise

I remember the first time I was shown that, with the caption of something like "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" I was left sitting there thinking "What? Drinking tea is now an outrage?" It was only later after someone said "It looks like Hitler!!!" and I spend a good couple of minutes that I finally saw what was supposed to be Hitler.

IIRC, it was on a billboard when that first made the rounds. A passing glance from a car with no opportunity to double-check, it makes more sense.

It plays into their "both sides do it" narrative I suppose but giving the issue more face time with the public can only prove counter productive to their goal here.

The amount of raw influence anonymous donors give to campaigns these days you'd think both sides would be clamoring for some sort of reform.

Instead you've got a relatively underfunded issues PAC talking about the problem of the bigger PACs while another PAC dogs their heels.

Sort of illustrates the problem, really.

Oh, and just cos it's fun to do...

Clearly, these dangerous liberals have a radical agenda in mind, some devious, cunning plot.  Somehow, they're giong to seize power by taking anonymous donations in order to campaign for an end to anonymous donations.  I know that sounds crazy, stupid, nonsensical, I know that you're thinking I must be brain-damaged for even suggesting it...but you see, that's how these atheist, Muslim, marriage-destroying, America-hating, Christmas-warring-against, Marxist/Stalinist/Maoist liberals work.

If you allow liberals to take anonymous donations today in order to campaign against anonymous donations, tomorrow you will find yourself married to another man and calling for capital gains tax increases and sensible regulations on gun ownership, and you will ask yourself, what happened, Real American?  What has happened to me?  And you will look in the mirror and you will see the cold, dead eyes of a liberal staring back at you.

Well for me that this group is doing this proves their point perfectly. No?

The left may sip from the cup of corporate donations and mega PAC money but the right is pouring it into a beer bong.
