The nitwit factor also comes into play because this is the second time they started a fire cooking meth in their kitchen.

Chicken Wings

Not Even Once

Why not? What do they have to lose? If the cops ask you how the apartment burned down, "I was frying chicken and it got out of hand" is a much better response than "my meth lab exploded".

exactly. never come clean, and stick to your story.
until you are absolutely sure they have you dead to rights.
then hold out for a deal if you can.
oh, and stick to your story.

They should have said nothing. Now they'll also have a charge of lying to the cops as well. They should have at least dummied up and got a lawyer.

So that's what's in the secret "herbs and spices"

2013-12-05 02:20:22 PM
Well if you're gonna tell them anything that's no less believable than anything else.  Cops do have a tendency to ask questions about such things.

haven't eaten yet today

No matter what a cop tells you, their not asking questions to help you.

Maybe they're actually super smart and came up with some new ingredient to make cooking meth smell like savory chicken.

With that "single bottle shake N bake " method being as volatile as I understand it to be, I don't understand why anyone would do it in their house, and if they did, why they don't invest in some really good fire extinguishers.

/of course, you have to take the intelligence into account.....

Yummmmm Chicken wings coated in Sudafed and Ammonia Nitrate.  Just like momma used to make and sell by the rock.

Or perhaps they came up with a new methy recipe for delicious chicken wings.

Breaking Bad has left people with the assumption that intelligent people manufacture meth, when in all likelihood it's the exact opposite.

Sober people are stupid enough to deep fry a turkey in their house.  So meth heads making meth in their house is not the least bit surprising.

Dummied up is what they are. So that explains the rest of this sorry tale.

Patently and demonstrably false.

If I'm a cop and someone lawyers up when I ask them how their apartment burned down, I'm going to do everything I can to find out why that apartment burned down. If they say it was an accident in the kitchen, maybe I'm too busy/lazy/stupid to look much closer.

I'll take a slim chance of no jail time even if I have to trade the possibility of a slight increase in jail time every time. Besides, I really doubt you'd get much, if any, time added for the lie.

Freaking meth. Seriously, I'm pretty much ok with people doing whatever drugs they want in their own home. Meth though, from the environmental disaster resulting from cooking it, and the fact that the users seem to be the sketchiest of sketchy trash. It just gives me the willies.

With meth addicts, the harder thing is getting them to stop offering free information to the lawman.

That's exactly what I would expect a cop to say.

"It'll go much better for you if you just tell me what happened."

No thanks, my lawyer will take care of that.

Exactly! If I tell them my meth lab exploded, I end up as a Fark headline. If I DON'T tell them my meth lab exploded, I end up as a Fark headline. What exactly am I supposed to do? Not cook meth?

Steamed, then baked. Unless what we call chiken wings up here isn't the same as elsewhere.

All read in both articles is there was a fire and bottles used to cook meth were found in the forest behind the apartment.

Maybe there is more to it but I don't see anything in the article connecting the meth cooking bottles to the people who had the fire.
