I've had just about enough of your Vassar bashing, young lady.

So the bias incident tactical response team was tactically performing bias incidents.  So what?  They are raising awareness that someone, somewhere is capable of bias incidents and that has to stop.

Maybe they won an office pool about this being a hoax. You'd be a fool to bet against these types of events.

Reminds me of an awesome standup comic I saw in France.  Free translation before

[background - a lot of delivery places in France use SOS in their name]

So I'm thinking about this hotline you can call, SOS-Racism.  You know, if you're a victim of racism you call this and the police will investigate, and if it's at work your union will be on your side.  But it doesn't make any sense.

SOS-Pizza is what you call when you need a pizza, right now.  And SOS-Mechanic is what you call if you have a breakdown on the side of the road.

So SOS-Racism should be the number you call if you need a racist, urgently.  "Yes, hello, SOS-Racism?  Yes, I need a racist right now.  Why? My new neighbors keep parking in my spot. Since they're from Algeria, I figured you could send me a racist who would scare them into moving away. Can you do that? How long until my racist gets here?"

I didn't notice any uncontrolled smirks?  I just got the impression that the male reporter isn't very good at reading from a teleprompter.  The female one was just doing that standard creepy news reporter smile the whole time.

I hope there was no cover charge for that show.

Megyn Kelly using "so-called" when referring to hate crimes is deliberate because, to the FNN audience such things are always a fiction.  Likewise when Trace Gallagher included that the former head of Campus Life was part of the "drag show," as if that had any bearing on the story whatsoever.

The professionally-appropriate thing to say is "alleged," because they were alleged and later proven to be false flags.

But seriously, just like the "no tip because I'm gay" waitress, this bullsh*t is trying to create conservative bogeymen and ultimately turning peoples' ears deaf to actual problems.  Attention whores, all of 'em.

"The email noted that the two students had admitted responsibility and withdrawn from the college voluntarily.
Their names were not reported, but reports now confirm that one student was one of the alleged victims: Genesis Hernandez, who is transgendered
"

This should go to the main page so we can have a) a tranny trifecta in play b) point and laugh at whiny biatches with victim complexes being enabled by overly PC college environments.

If we could only get guns and circumsion on the topic too this would have Legendary Thread potential

Trust me, it was better in the original.

I don't see any smirking. They have the same vapid appearance as anybody on Fox News ever has while trying to pretend they're being big boy/girl journalists.

That was boring and I am disappoint.

I didn't see any smirking either.  There's enough reason to hate Fox; no need to make up new ones.

s2s2s2: ...they weren't hate crimes. They were a hoax.

And thus the point of using "alleged" whenever proper news organizations report on crime.  "So called" connotes an air of disdain or that the concept is foreign, calling into question whether such a thing could even be a crime, not whether a crime actually occurred.

But you know... words having actual meanings is a major knowledge area deficiency among conservatives.  If it sounds negative, it can be freely used for any situation, like fascist, socialist, communist, et cetera.

The problem with "alleged" is that it's the word you use when something has yet to be proven.  Things that have been proven false need their own adjective.  "So called" comes off sounding a little unprofessional, but I'm not immediately coming up with a better alternative.

^^^So much THIS^^^

I'm proudly conservative, yet extremely tolerant of what floats people's boats is their business, not mine.

I get truly overjoyed when those with a cause overstep common sense and their tactics backfire.  Graceful and intelligent changing of people's minds to be indifferent* to those who are in a minority or another is challenging, but much more useful in the long term, and these bozos succeeded in giving my daily schadenfreude.

*Indifference isn't a dirty word, and is the real goal.  We're all allowed to decide what we agree with, yet none of us has the right to make someone's life more difficult or add to their burden.

I know!  After all the coverage they did on the matter, they were simply following up to their story.
Because if FoxNews is about anything, it's about advancing human rights and correcting any errors in their reporting!

Does anybody find it scary this college has a "police" organization created explicitly to investigate and root out people who have "bias" and "hate"??  Imagine this on a national scale.  These people truly scare me.

About 5 years ago, there was one of these situations here in the Chicago area, at a small liberal arts college.  It involved racist statements being left at an African-American woman's dorm room, I even think a mini noose was taped to her door, etc.  Local news story.  Students marching, demanding an end to racism.  School issuing statements that racism is not acceptable, in any way, shape or form.  And in the end, it was determined that it was the African-American woman, who was the source of all of the racist acts.  IIRC, her explanation was that she was trying to make people aware of racism.  I wonder where she is now?
