(Politico)   Republicans get in a "tussle" over gay candidates. What can I say? Roger started tussling Mitch on the Floor and next thing you know, there was a big ol' Boehner poking through   (politico.com) divider line 23

Gentle enough, but clumsy.  Like they really know what they're doing and what feels nice but are afraid to let on.

Obvious "widening stance" jokes aside, honestly this sounds great.  I mean, as a centrist/right democrat that's frustrated with the GOP's obstructionist block-vote on everything bullshiat... the party intentionally alienating candidates so that they don't feel any obligation whatsoever to vote with the party on issues they don't personally agree with sounds like it'll be great for clearing up deadlock.

Living in fear of everything that isn't in your echo chamber must be so much fun. Just sit at home in your tinfoil room and count your mutual funds.

I suppose the fact they're even having the conversation internally is a sign of progress.  Small steps.

Virginia Rep. Randy Forbes, a senior House Republican eyeing a powerful committee chairmanship, is causing friction with some of his colleagues by pushing the House GOP campaign arm to deny support for some of the party's gay congressional candidates.

DO IT!!! Oh, God, this would be great. I have no idea what gay people even try to run for the Party where the second goal(Only coming in behind the desire to block ANYTHING put forth by the Dems for no real reason) is the persecution of their kind. Fark it, form you own Party, I don't care, just QUIT RUNNING AS GAY REPUBLICANS!!!! Maybe this will be the wakeup call they need?

Well, they've alienated 2/3s of the voters, alienating candidates was pretty much all they had left.

Think of the sociopaths that politics attracts. If you're gay or latino or black and a Republican, you're an instant rock star. Some would rather be king of hell than servant of heaven.
