Muta: Shouldn't that money go to pay down the debt?

That's what I was wondering.

I dont' think such a thought has entered any Congressman's brain ever.

That's a stupid bill idea. And if you are against it, you are against the troops, of course.

There should be a TSA lottery created to get rid of this money.

"The TSA has been keeping the pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters from your change purse to pay for their bloated bureaucracy," Miller said in a statement.

"... a bureaucracy I voted to create and later bloat, but who cares about that? Obviously not my constituents! Haw haw! God bless the troops."

Miller wants to redirect the loose change to help members of the military.
"The TSA has been keeping the pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters from your change purse to pay for their bloated bureaucracy," Miller said in a statement. "If TSA representatives get to play 'finders keepers' with your hard-earned cash, what's the incentive to try to get the loose change to its rightful owners?"

Of course, if your hard-earned cash is being directed to exclusive cushy airport lounges for the military, what's the incentive for those authoritarian badge lickers to try to get the loose change to its rightful owners?

For a real incentive, how about for every dollar the TSA "finds", they have to match it in a donation to an anti-TSA lobby?

Republicans cost us $22 billion with the government shutdown. A few hundred thousands is nothing, this is just the Republicans trying to get good press by sticking it to the awful government while helping veterans. You know, especially the ones that had their food stamps cut.

Do you support the Congress Publicly Fellating Servicemen Without Actually Doing Anything Meaningful To Improve Their Lives Act (CPFSWADAMTITLA)? Or are you against our troops?

Best part:

Miller's bill was recently evaluated by the Congressional Budget Office, which said the agency is expected to spend unclaimed money gradually over the next several years.
According to an earlier report in
"I was pretty aggravated that they said it was going to cost money to give money away," Miller told the magazine.

Yet he come from the party that claims to understand how business really works.

Way to tackle the tough and pressing issues ladies and gentlemen.   I'm sure all Americans will rest easier tonight knowing that change left behind at airports will be donated.

Most of us are too busy buying US savings bonds.

My favorite TSA scam of late...

Flying out of San Jose the MONDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING they had the longest security lines I've ever seen there - by far - and I've made this same flight five years running. What was different this year? Badged TSA officers selling their 'clear' service for $180 that lets you jump the line. I  ended up jumping the rope to make my flight. I get up to the front and they have 3 (of the I think 8?) scanner lines closed on one of the busiest travel days of the year thereby creating demand for their own ripoff product.

So the party of fiscal responsibility and low taxes proposes spending $1 million dollars to redistribute thousands of what are essentially tax dollars?

Didn't these commie-socialist-RINO's think their cunning plan all the way through their ideology?

How about we just get rid of change altogether.

Bam, i just saved the TSA 1 million dollars (but I just cost the US mint a lot more).

"Collected" money? More like stolen. My dad had to fly frequently because of work. He learned quickly to make sure that he left all the change he had in his car because it would magically vanished if he put it in the plastic container to go through security.

//and we have $1 & $2 coins up here so it can be a big hit
