Death by antifreeze is so creepy. The thing is, anyone could kill using it, and there'd be no turning back.

To be fair, who hasn't wanted to poison their spouse at some time or another?

Two glasses? Wow -- that's pretty amazing considering it only takes about 250ml of the stuff to cause acute kidney failure and probably death. It's very sweet, too, and it hits you like hard liquor, so you don't realize it until it's too late. Or unless you're puking your guts out.

I mean, not that I would know or anything.

My wife has been slipping it to me for so long I've built up a tolerance.  The only trouble I have is when she gets cheap and uses the used stuff as that has lead in it.

God Bless her little soul.

It's stories like this that warm my heart, and restore my faith in humanity.

Let's see: A judge, which is a hybrid cross between a politician and an attorney. Hmmm.. .    Poisoned; a slow, agonizing way to be snuffed you say?

Just let her go. Maybe don't allow her to cook Christmas Dinner this year, which I am sure would be devastating enough to her, but just let her go.

Some people will want to give her a medal, I am sure. God Bless them, too.

You better give her your debit card then so she doesn't cheap out.

The antidote to antifreeze poisoning happens to be massive amounts of alcohol.  Friends of my parents son was poisoned by his wife.  He then went out on a 3 day bender.  Her defense lawyer almost got her off because the time line was skewed by 3 days.   The funny thing is had he kept drinking for another 4 or 5 days he might have lived.

Easy, now; he's just a probate judge.

When my dad was a lawyer he had a side job as a probate judge for a couple of small towns. Once a month he'd hold court in the general meeting room to the town hall. His "bench" was usually one of those foldable tables they use for pot luck suppers. It was actually a little embarrassing for him when people called him "judge" outside of "chambers."

It's one thing to want somebody out of your life. It's another thing to serve them a wake-up cup of Anti-freeze.

If you haven't contemplated murder, you ain't been in love. If you haven't seriously thought about killing a motherf*cker, you ain't been in love. If you haven't had a can of rat poison in your hand and looked at it for forty-five minutes straight, you ain't been in love. If you haven't bought a shovel and a bag and a rug to roll their ass up in, you ain't been in love. If you haven't practiced your alibi in front of the mirror, you ain't been in love. And the only thing that's stopped you from killing this motherf*cker was a episode of CSI: "Oh man, they thorough. I better make up. They might catch my ass."

What always gets me in these stories is the calculating nature.  Instead of using a gun, hatchet, whatever, so you can plead either self defense or temporary insanity, the killer goes with the method that guarantees a charge of premeditated murder.  And most juries will at least consider mercy with any charge other than premeditated murder.

It must be the desire for revenge blots out all rational thought about the consequences.

Ethylene glycol causes a miserable death.  The body metabolizes it into oxalic acid, which then precipitates out of urine into calcium oxalate - same thing as the most common kidney stone.  But unlike a small stone it just dumps massive amount of rock in your kidneys.

No I said it backwards.  My parents friends had a son.  His wife poisoned him.  I just think it is neat, scientifically speaking, that getting drunk for several days could actually save your life.

Couldn't she make ricin? Or buy lily of the valley? Or maybe she could spike his soup with hydrofluoric acid? For that matter they might think to look for a massive dose of meth, him being a judge and all.

My mother threw boiling water at my father once. Talk about love!

All parts of lily of the valley are poisonous. (link)

But I haven't looked up how to make it into a form you can slip in somebody's food, drink or medication, because it's not my intent to suborn a felony.
