This is kind of funny, someone in my office was defending them in my office Monday.  Maybe they are redditors and saw the news 3 days ago too.

Dude, I don't even talk to my own farking family anymore.
those assholes act like PSU is gold.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone associated with that whole affair needs to be locked up.
Joe Paterno should be dug up and hung form the goal posts.

the entire University should be nuked back into a 5 acre ag school.

And the governor of the state is guilty too.

Other than the court appointed lawyer, he just has to do his job fairly. Hence why the US Justice System is pretty good all things considered.

GOOD!

Spanier needs to be charged.  He failed to mention this to the Board of Trustees at each and every opportunity, only acknowledging it when one of the Board brought it to his attention.  He never provided the findings of their "internal review" to the Board as requested of him, and stonewalled everyone at every turn.

Sadly, this is pretty much how he works, and for some reason the university loved him for it.

Those of us with an IQ above room temperature made sure to get our degrees and get the heck away from that place.

There's at least two farkers I can think of who have been so deep in denial about this they'd probably get a bad case of the bends if they came back to reality too quickly.   I wonder if they'll be stopping in today.

I can't beleive there are no defenders posting in the comments of that article yet.  It's amazing the number of people around here that think PSU is the greatest thing ever.  Of course most of them also have a 5-toed cat paw on the back of their car, illustrating just how intelligent they actually are.

Yeah, and I'm betting the Gov. had a hand in that.
He sure as shiat had no hand in actively wondering WTF happened to him.

No one defended Penn State, just the concept that Paterno was villified as somehow being involved.

Also, we do realize none of these guys are going to be found guilty right?

The 'lies' presented in the article are sourceless opinions of the author.

2013-12-04 01:27:08 PM
The word ALLEGEDLY is used far to much to fake impartialness. These documents are not actually questioned, they are actual descriptions/lists of recorded events, that we now know to have happened.

The extent of the effect of the lies and the exact words used are both alleged, but the validity of the documents is not.

Besides perjury, all three former Penn State leaders were subsequently charged with failing to report an allegation of child abuse, endangering the welfare of children by failing to act strongly enough in the wake of the Sandusky allegations, and taking other steps to interfere with the state Attorney General's probe from 2009 through 2011.

See?  That's what happened -- they just interfered with the wrong probe.

All a big mistake.  Let 'em go.

This is the state where a couple of judges had a nice little "cash for kids" jail system until one of them got too greedy.

So, until someone flips, this nice little Three Mile Island will stay under wraps.

All of the people involved in this, particularly the three mentioned in the article, are shiat, and should be in jail along with Sandusky.

That said, it still pisses me off when people lump the entire town and school together with these scumbags.  As someone that went there for grad school, I can say that most people I interacted with didn't give a crap about the football program, and all are equally horrified and pissed off at the entire thing.

And that is why the whole program needs to be given the death penalty. People will still pour in support, boosters will still stuff the coffers, no matter how insidious the crimes. Penn State football is an American cancer.

The bigger problem is how far up the food chain this went and was covered up. It's way bigger than just the football program.

Let's not pretend this is unique to Penn State. It's human nature.  There are any number of examples of people turning a willfully blind-eye to atrocity in the name of some higher purpose or to remain in the good graces of their peer group.

Does this mean that JoePa is innocent?  Does this mean that....no, even I can't make jokes about this shiat.

I think that they should find a use for Joepa's statue, which is just collecting dust right now.  Something befitting a man of Joepa's stature.  Like take the head off of it and mount it in a urinal, in some bus station, so guys passing through, can pay the proper respect, that JoePa so truly deserves.
