You need to stop being stupid on purpose

A rare photograph of a libertarian standing next to an anarchist:

Well duh, Libertarianism is just conservatism without the religious hang-ups.  They fill the void of Jesus talk with "FREE MARKETS" while keeping all the racist, bitter, white man rage.

but most of the world's leading economists denounce it as a folly that would exacerbate the central economic challenges we face today-most significantly, wealth disparity.

See, personally, I think the most significant economic challenge we face today is making sure people have food, shelter, health care and clothing. Wealth disparity, in and of itself, never bothered me that much. Having some people get filthy rich while others can't eat? Yes, that's a problem, but it's not quite the same thing as denouncing disparity per se.

The aphorism that libertarians are Republicans with bongs is just about spot-on.

"Just about" because some forgot where they left their bong.

But the article has a something of a point - libertarianism is not based on any type of empirical evidence, while atheism is the exact opposite - so why are so many libertarians atheists?

What he doesn't grasp is that not all atheists arrive at that view after years and years of spiritual searching, struggle and rational evaluation.   Many are simply grabbing a ready-made value system they find empowering because it pisses off a bunch of people - you know, like libertarianism.

meat0918: Um.

The confluence of religion, government, and the military industrial complex are the real problem.

Focusing on a miniscule % of a % is just mindless internet dickwaving.

Meaning what exactly?  It seems obvious to me, that whoever has buckets of money will corrupt the democratic process.  1% is a goofy kind of shorthand when it's really more like the 0.1% that have inordinate amounts of power and influence.

Obama's Reptiloid Master: Your blog sucks.

Also lol at atheist libertarians. Polish your fedora collection some more.

Is there some law that states these guys have to be fat neck beards?

Zaraithe: Greene with zero comments. This article must include instructions on resurrecting Rand herself so she can lead a crusade against the Library hordes and usher in one thousand years of paradise.

Actually, the article comes down pretty hard on libertarians.

Sorry, subby.  Inductive reasoning is pretty much the providence of the political right.

I'd call omniscience a serious flaw in any economic model.
