Mia and Sadie are both perfectly normal, common names. It annoys me that now anyone who wants to name their kids now has to consider reality TV implications. That's some bullshiat.

um. i'm pretty sure those names were already what parents were naming their redneck babies....

Wait a minute, we can't have a baby name thread without throwing in Aiden, Jackson, and the other names that seem to grace the land so commonly.

Yeah, like it's any better over the Pond, DM. You still naming all of your kids Pippa and Piers and Humphrey-Winthrop and you think you got your finger on the pulse on what we Yanks name our babbies.

RTFA. Those are numbers 2 and 1 (respectively) for boys.

I would love to see a social convention where any name in the top 15 for one year would be removed from circulation for the coming 3-5 years. Be sure to include the stupid spelling variants. "Oh, you want to name your girl Emma? That's so original... it got overplayed last year, so PICK AGAIN. And nothing trying to sneak a silent Q in there... not going to happen."

Anything to cut down on the numbers of Aiden/Jayden/other stupid trendy names running around.

If I'm naming my daughter Sadie, it will be after people with more class.

Reporting from Redneck-land - no, they weren't. They're big on fancy sounding names that really aren't fancy to try to put on airs... A lot of Emma's, Emily's, etc...

I will get back to judging other parents right after I'm done caning brap jr. within an inch of his life for only making seventeen pairs of shoes in the basement today.

At least pick an interesting name from the show that won't haunt them later in life.

Gaius is a pretty respectable name that I could see lifting from that show without being horribly obvious and damaging to the child.  Certainly better than that moronic Pony McGrowthefarkUp name posted earlier.

My rationale for Gaius would be that the name is mostly uttered by tall, beautiful blonde clones on the show.  I would hope that the trend continues for my future son.

Goddammit, there's a Sadie on that duck show? My oldest kid's name is Sadie. I'm hoping the fact that she's already 13 clues people in that we didn't name her for someone on a stupid-is-cool reality show.

/Mia is also a very nice name.
