Outlaw birth control.
Repeal child labor laws.
Cut capital gains taxes to zero.

Let health insurers circumvent state level regulation.

With an agenda like that, how can they lose?

In the past it worked much better than it should have but it seems to be wearing thin by now. The intractable demographic that will vote Republican no matter what is dying off.

If JUST white males voted, then Romney would've won in a Reaganesque 501-37 landslide.  According to white males responding to exit polls.

And because it's not 1800, we have the actual election results where women and minorities... skewed... those polls.

I'd guess that this map shows how White Men voted in 2012. If the electorate was nothing but White Men, Romney would have won in a landslide.

Luckily for us, the electorate is not just White Men. (And I say that as a White Man).

Why does it blow anybody away? The Democratic party has long catered to minorities/women issues as a base, so is it shocking the other party tends to get more white males?

If you count only white males, the Republicans win every election in a total landslide. The graphic shows the result if you do this in the 2012 presidential election.

As I said it blows me away, but the only conclusion I can make is that this demographic (possibly all of them but that isn't shown here) vote not on policy but on tribe. To white males, the GOP is their tribe, their football team, and everything right about America is in the GOP. They know nothing about policy but they trust the GOP because that's what their daddy did.

You won't change them. The best you can do is to convince them to stay home election day. Other than that the only cure is for them to die off.

About the same time some father with a hungry and sick kid stops holding his hand out and makes a fist. About the time that same father picks up a brick and throws it through the glass doors of an office building.

The issues pushed by the Democratic Party statistically tend to affect women/minorities more then white men. People tend to act in self interest. Your typical white male is a middle class working stiff. You start talking about things like for example expanding government social services he starts worrying about how much he is going to cost him to provide these services for others.
