These brave men put their lives on the line for us an a daily basis.

Its just a little drunk driving, he finished up on foot so its all good, no harm no foul.

Without the police it would be anarchy, cut the guy some slack, its a hard job.

They also used a portable breathalyzer, which showed him above the limit. That's when he ran because he knew that tool wasn't enough for a conviction.

This would work for anyone, really.  Of course you would have to actually get away and deal with the other charges.

Anyone who wasn't a public official would end up with a felony "resisting arrest" charge or something similar.
